I'm afraid to smoke DMT again. How can I overcome my fear? Options

Two years ago as of this writing, I smoked DMT (70mg) and broke though. It was my first time smoking DMT and I broke through PLUS PLUS. I made entity contact and experienced profound shock and terror because I truly believe it was real. The entity I encountered did not try to harm me, but I almost died of astonishment. I simply wasn't prepared, and I've never been the type to have any innate psychic capabilities.

Truth be told, I was traumatized by the experience. It was kind of like bungee jumping, except I bungee jumped into an alien dimension, without knowing I was about to bungee jump, and without knowing if I had a rope attached to my ankle.

The experience ultimately had the positive effect of changing my views regarding the finality of death, so I'm grateful for that; however, I'm struggling with the challenge of taking the plunge into Hyperspace a second time.

It's been two years since I first touched the spice. I would like to see entities again, explore further, and perhaps receive profound healing or some useful information. But I will confess that I am very scared.

How can I overcome my FEAR and go in again? Should I even go back? Is it worth it? Or should I just accept that I successfully opened the box, took a peek, expanded my awareness, and leave it at that?

Thank you for listening!

I'd say try a much smaller dose and increase over time as you gain comfort.

eye don't see why you shouldn't explore further... it doesn't seem like it was a scary bad trip, but a scary good trip. no matter how many times you do it you will get that feeling of astonishment, it's not something you get used to, or at least in my experience (only done it 5 times lol) eye get a huge surge of adrenaline no matter how prepared eye think eye am lol. eye personally think DMT is worth it, but trust me, if you have ANY fear you will get hyperslapped so hard. make sure you're 150% ready and comfortable to go in. if YOU feel you are ready to go back, do so, no one else can tell you if you're prepared or not Smile

and yeah, try a much lower dose o-o 40mg is breakthrough dosage you went way over, that's probly why you got so scared lol

I doesn't sound like it was a fearful or painful experience, just complete and total shock. Pure ecstatic amazement. It can be overwhelming, especially the first time and especially on that kind of dose (I do that and more regularly these days and love every drawn out second). If you do decide to explore hyperspace more, start with about half of your first dose and work your way up from there. The more you explore the more you can comprehend and appreciate the sheer beauty of it all. And the more you understand, the better you can control your path through hyperspace. Never give up trying, because it's only through failure to try that we can fail to find ourselves.

Meditate until you're no longer dominated by fear. Two years is an eternity in the blink of an eye. Are you traumatised? If you are afraid, maybe you're not ready.
Meditate to unlearn that scary is bad. Scary is good! Questioning reality is good! Even the complete destruction and reconstruction of your reality is good! That's how you learn Smile It sounds like you have the curiosity but you're holding on to your current reality (maybe an illusion of sanity or certainty?) too hard and that's holding you back.

Find out what's the most valuable thing to you: learning something new or sticking to the old. That will give you the answer to whether you really want to explore the DMT-space again or not.

Only you can tame, destroy or embrace your fears.

Good luck Smile

DMT can throw you right into hyperspace, the intensity and velocity can be a problem, but you can choose other(slower) ways.

Make Changa, drink Caapi/rue tea, ease your way in, slowly increase the vaping dose.

Eat some shrooms, or...

Drink some Rue/caapi tea and eat half a gram of shrooms.

Remember the shrooms are basicly oral active DMT. In combination with a plant-RIMA like Rue or Caapi you have a very similar experience to Ayahuasca.
This can be used to curb Angst, and then you could proceed with the DMT, (not neccessary direct combination, but afterwards if you are free of fear.)

Also the Caapi/rue tea alone would help a bit.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

^^^This feeling never truly goes away entirely, IME. The fact that you are scared to jump right back in shows that you have respect for our great molecule. I must agree with the others on taking the dose down a bit and then building up to stronger doses.

There will always be a bit of fear but to me, that makes it quite a bit more interesting. Flow with it if you can. Best of luck to you!

If you do decide to go back in at some point I would suggest that you wait to arrange to most optimum setting as possible . Have a great positive mindset and try to work in gradually . Make a changa blend with caapi leaf.

What you experience can't hurt you it's only how you choose to perceive it that can be problematic . Choose an open mind
with no expectation or judgement . Be an observer , stay grounded and breathe ....... You ll be fine

^ to that point, don't schedule this experience. Have your spice ready, but don't do it on a specific day at a specific time just because you said that's when you would. Let the moment come to you, and you will know in that moment that the time is right.

Very good analogy! Do you think you would feel differently now about the experience if you had been more prepared for what happened?

Only you know if you should go back, but the fact that your asking the question suggests to me that you have further questions. Is it worth going back? 100% yes, in my opinion. Don't hold your breath waiting for it to be less intimidating, I have taken DMT hundreds of times and the nervousness never seems to be completely gone but for me the rewards are worth a little pre-flight jitters.

Same here, I always have a span of nervousness, trips to the bathroom to evacuate my system (that is cleansing as well) I read some spiritual text and meditate on my intentions and take a personal inventory of areas I want to work on. I always begin by thanking the plants that gave their essence up and that their caretakers treat them well. This usually gets me to the place where my heart rate slows and then I am ready(ish). I have taken a liking to 20mg sublingual harmalas an hour or two beforehand and lowering the dose from 50-60mg to 40mg.
Marijuana, LSD, psilocybin, and DMT they all changed the way I see

To be totally honest, I share your trepidation too. With the last extract I had access to, I ended up giving it all away, not feeling ready to go back in as deep as I went on my last encounter with the spice, which resulted in a hyper-slap experience with destructive entities. However, that experience also left me not wanting to go back any LESS deep, so I've just been preparing myself with meditation over the last several months for an imminent breakthrough attempt.

I actually hiked to my spot several miles up in the forest, only to just sit there with the spice and meditate and return back into the city without partaking. My reluctance to do so has created a small amount of anxiety in me, especially as i basically proselytize the drug on a nearly full time basis...Wut?

I don't know that I experience nervousness, worry or trepidation beforehand, but I do find I have to work myself up to it. I'll sometimes sit in a nice spot holding my loaded machine for an hour or more before I rip it. I'm not entirely sure what I'm thinking in these periods. Mostly just centering myself and clearing my mind I guess. I suppose you could loosely call it meditation, but I think it's more just a matter of achieving a sort of unbiased clarity so my conscious mind doesn't interfere with the experience. I think this is a useful tool in controlling the experience to an extent. This might be part of why I don't associate DMT with fear. Earlier on in my travels, every time I intended to trip and then passed on it after getting set up seemed to further increase my reluctance the next time. Eventually I realised that it's only by diving in that that cycle of fear and reluctance can be broken.

I wanted to share this thread as I feel it is very relevant to the OP. The advice I received is amazing and truly helpful. I have moved past the fear at this point. I hope you can as well!

I read here to start low at 35 - 40 (low?), why not just half of that.
Thinking of all in 1 rip well vaped. Probably just at the doorstep but who cares about that, it's a start level thing.

^^^Absolutely. Being at the doorstep is all you really need sometimes! I am all about those lower doses! The sub breakthrough has a lot to teach too!
