Hey, have any of you written letters to the editor of your local newspaper informing people of the medicinal potential of psychedelics, or anything else that dismantles the logic supporting the war on drugs?

What do you people think of organizing a coordinated effort where we get a bunch of people to pledge to write letters to the editor at around the same time? It can be scary speaking out about something that is so taboo it's illegal, but if we do it "together" maybe it won't be so scary.

Credibility of the writers will be moot point.
I was positively surprised lately to read a full page size piece in the regular newspaper about scientists that came out of the closet with their interests on mdma for a variety of illnesses. They did not claim medicine right away, they were very prudent on that matter, they only opened the discussion about potential benefit and rights to investigate in the matter. But it were scientists and had credibility on their hands! They could not be dismissed as "dopeheads talking BS" as some opponents have this kind of ammunition lock'n loaded in the barrel of their guns.

I mean the editors take scientists serious (thus credible) for publication of their interests, will the editors (or readers) do same for non scientists claiming? I should have said public credibility.

I think so. As long as you stick to proven facts and studies, and highlight the possibilities, you'll be taken seriously. You don't have to make lofty claims in order to support the movement and raise awareness.

Perhaps I feel inferior in advocating advanced area. Embarrased
Even feeling reluctant to tell my own family.
I know this is not good and fuels the stalemate situation.
RS you make me think twice of all this, thank you.
