I have never tried singing or chanting while tripping. I am very interested in trying this but can't think of anything to sing or chant. I have seen a few people refer to this in other threads recently. I would like to know more. What songs and chants are you singing and chanting? How does your psychedelic experience change when you chant and sing? Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

Sing whatever is in your heart. Pick a tune that has a strong emotional connection to you and just let it flow! It always makes me feel more grounded and its almost like I am releasing some cosmic energy into the universe. As for chanting, well, I haven't tried that yet but I accidently came across a YouTube video of an older Native American man singing/chanting a Lakota lullaby. It was mesmerizing even while sober so I can only imagine how powerful it would be on DMT! Anyway, I'd go with whatever feels right at that moment! Best of luck! New to The Nexus? "It always makes me feel more grounded and its almost like I am releasing some cosmic energy into the universe." Most definitely! I absolutely love vocalizing during experiences. Just go with the flow and see what comes out, it will surprise you. OM is nice to start with but then I let it evolve and change. Usually I get into a kind of throat singing. This kind of thing is very under-utilized among us western explorers IMO. It is an extremely powerful tool, like going into the ocean with a surfboard for the first time.

Yeah, I never hummed or throat sang anything specific; as everyone above said, just do what comes through you at the time and go with it. I've had experiences change on a dime when id start to vocalize; sound and vibration seem to be very important and somehow interwoven throughout. Vocalizing also can release quite a bit of anxiety/tension, if you happen to stumble into those things during the experience.

In a lot of Muscogean tribes there are no written musical notation or lyrics. It is all said to come within. I've found myself dancing around in a circle chanting "Heyyyaaaaaaa ayyyy yyaaaaa ayy yooooo" wishing I had a drum. I say let your inner being doing the composing http://www.chickasaw.tv/...ideo/how-flutes-are-madeThis explains a Muscogean tribe's instrument was created and how it is played. I think what he has to say relates. Creator help me live in a way that will make my ancestors proud.

I sort of make my own icaros. The melodies and rhythms and whatnot are very similar, but they're certainly not as complex as the one's i've heard (they can be deceptively complex!!). I'm a musician, I already live and breathe music, so it's pretty natural for me. Sometimes I come up with mantras that are fun to sing over and over again. A few are: "Don't believe everything you think- a-a-a-ah" and "Always do whatchuwant, always" Very personal. It feels weird sharing this. But I'm sure you can come up with your own. Just entertain yourself. From the unspoken Grows the once broken

I was tripping on mushrooms with my girlfriend and one of my best friends, who, on this material plane, is 17 years older than me. We all began chanting. I started to chant Om, my girlfriend started to sing a harmonious tune, it was almost a sigh, a laughter of the cosmic joke, communicating and echoing out into the universe, and my friend began to vibrate his lips, creating a buzzing noise. Together, we were unisons of light emitting our own frequency, merging into the one⦠It was beautiful and extremely uplifting, and all from the heart!

Imitation is the highest form of flattery. I did a couple of Ayahuasca ceremonies with Shipibo Curanderos and they sing Icaros the whole time. Some of them stuck in my mind for months. I started to whistle an adapted version, whenever i felt like it (often), while cleaning, when walking around, even while shopping. Then i started to improvise my own melodies. Before the Aya sessions i was already addicted to listen to Buddhist/Hindu Mantras which had a profound effect on my psyche. Especially this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aq-CKdT6IG4If you are surrounded by Negativity, you drop that acustic atom bomb and chant with it, no evil will prevail. Same with this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q41RDC4iqvc Both are easy to learn. I would also recommend to chant OM while playing some classic tibetan chanting. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9P8fNQ0fqSIAlso the style of NA natives is very helpful and easy to replicate. Muskogee Herbman wrote: I've found myself dancing around in a circle chanting "Heyyyaaaaaaa ayyyy yyaaaaa ayy yooooo" wishing I had a drum. You should get a drum. And a rattle. When i first tried Shrooms + Rue, i accidently ate a lot of abortians, unknowing that they could be stronger. Oh, and i did the Terrence McKenna thing, asking the shrooms to show me who they really are. They kicked my ass, overwhelmed me with powerful ultrafast visions, and then they showed me lots of really ugly, nasty, nightmare inducing stuff of rotten organic substance. But at the same time they made me realize that i could switch the channel if i wish so by singing/chanting. Which i did, and the CEVs changed to the most beautiful colorful patterns i ve ever seen. That was an eye opener, since then i am whistling/chanting/singing whenever i feel like it.

I have hundreds of thousands of songs in my mind that I can spontaneously burst out singing whenever the need arises. All the way from traditional church hymns to folk, rock & pop music & everything in between. It's nice to have a toolbox of songs so that when the need/urge arises you've got a deep well to choose from. One time I conducted hymn singing in the little country church that I grew up in while tripping on LSD. It was absolutely an amazing experience. Universecannon Wow so beautifully articulated, vocalizing during an entheogenic experience definitely goes hand in hand with Pranayama breathwork and gently swaying from side to side almost like grass does in a refreshing breeze on a bright summer day. Much Peace and Kindness

Singing is not part of my world (babies cry and adults throw stone to me if i dare hum ) but with DMT, on the come down, most of the time i produce some amazing throat singing (not sure if it's throat singing but i'm able to vibrate differents part of my throat, nose, sinuses). The feeling is 'alien' to me and really enjoyable. I'm totaly unable to do it when back to my usual state. « I love the smell of boiling MHRB in the morning »

Singing is sometimes the easiest way to change the energy of a ceremony or to shift how your body feels in my experience. Chanting can be fun - just pick a mantra or maybe one of the chakra syllables.... Chanting is best when with a group I think - you can chant together or do a free chant of the same syllable.... For singing - make it up and dont use words, or make up the words, or just hum, or throat sing, or sing medicine songs, or sing your favorite songs that just make you happy.... When I feel like I am going to vomit, I can usually sing it away instead. Sometimes I will get pains in my body until I sing to them - I even get pains for my clients sometimes (where I feel their pain in my body) and I can give them energy work by singing to the part of my body that hurts for them. Sometimes singing will open visions for me - and the vision keeps unfolding as I sing, but stops if I stop..... Here are some fun songs to sing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylizMw6iw9shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX1pp89xVxg(he sings the first one in sanskrit then english, the second one is spanish and then english)
