Bonus: one gets the best possible separations no matter how hard and long was shaken.

Some lab-equipment of my interest in on this picture:

I would like to try out a separatory funnel (as some others have said) just to see if it was really more efficient. As of now, I just use a glass turkey baster. With practice it is easily mastered. I would also like to get a nice set of beakers! I've taken apart a couple of 1L french presses because they are essentially a beaker with some extra parts! They are perfect for 100g extractions! However having a set of professional beakers would have its advantages, I'm sure!

I have a 500ml sep funnel, but i'm new to this thing and use only tek with the plant material left inside so i can't use it, but for mini a/b or wash my pulls with distilled water works great.

Maybe the next time i try a tek with acid boils and filtration...

Only one thing with sep funnel, what do you use for lubrificate the valve ? i try with vaseline but after a few separation the valve block and i have to clean and restart...what i can use that acid, base and naphta dosen't wash away ?

Definitely a good quality 1 or 2L borosilicate glass bottle with a screw cap. ^^ Comes in handy for all teks.

Would have said the glass syringe tbh but I haven't found a good household substitute for a good glass extraction vessel.

IME I would have to go with a 50ml glass syringe but I also love having a 2000ml volumetric flask... having the right equipment for the job makes a huge difference so It's difficult to pick just one but the glass syringe is on the top of my list

Damn with those syringes. Smile I have 20 ml one, and believe me, pipette rules! It is so easy to suck in bits of basic soup with glass syringe. Glass syringes are not smooth as plastic ones.

My 50ml is super smooth and so far it has worked flawlessly for me but I have been seeing a lot of people express how much more efficient pipettes are so that will probably be my next piece of equipment to try... I was thinking glass 10ml with a hand pump most likely.
Another one I have been trying to track down is the conical measure gibran pictures in his caapi extraction tek... I have been using a small conical vase which has worked fine but I'm always looking to upgrade Smile

I have 20/50/100 ml Glass syringes . Prior to those I used plastic ones which after a few used would stick , I even used to oil the edge of the plunger as I went and I received blisters on my hands to boot.
Glass syringes are the dogs nuts in my books Very happy

Infrared spectrometer

Everything else I could make out of bubblegum and condom wrappers, or an eye dropper and an abnormally large rutabaga in the case of a sep funnel.

I've seen DIY FTIR, DIY spectrophotometers, even DIY NMR. I've never seen DIY mass spec.

Glass baster. I can improvise the rest. The baster is a must. Although I would prefer a separatory funnel.
