It is possible to mix very little water with sodium carbonate or lime and rootbark to base the rootbark while keeping it anhydrous or dry.

I was wondering if it was possible to mix an acid like citric acid with very little water in the same manner to acidity rootbark while leaving it anhydrous?

This way one could acidify the rootbark, wash it with naphtha or d-limonene, basify it with a dry base, extract with naphtha/d-limonene.

What do you think?

Bump: Can citric acid and a small enough amount of water be used to acidify rootbark in the same way a base and a small amount of water can to dry tek it?

From my knowledge of chemistry, no. Acids and bases have meaning only in terms of aqueous solutions. The reactions involved in extractions occur in solution.

69ron always seems to talk good about drytek basing with little water and a base to freebase the alkaloids.

Maybe acidification works this way as well?
