trying to extract 50g of MHRB. I more or less followed the boil and base v1.2 tek - https://www.dmt-nexus.me...px?g=posts&t=42775.

I added the warm naphtha to the base solution and mixed by turning the container end over and rolling it. I did this for 15 minutes and then left it but an emulsion had formed so i left it overnight. This morning some naphtha had evaporated so i added more as well as more NaOH and mixed same as before. After 2 hours there is a huge lump of NaOH in the bottom as well as some smaller ones and only a thin layer of naphtha on top with some emulsion around the edges and in the bottom of the naphtha.
Can i add more naphtha without mixing, leave it and then pull and freeze it so that the naphtha layer is thicker and easier to get out.
And why is the NaOH forming little rocks in the bottom.
Thank you for your time.

Hi new explorer,

The link is not working for me. So I don't know what you did.
But 'the little rocks' is not something I experienced.

I normally dissolve the naoh in water. Stir it till it is dissolved and then add it to the mix. Check if you used the right amount of naoh.
Did you use other chemicals?

You can put more naphta in but then again you have to evaporate some naphta before you put the naphta in the freezer. Some spice will stay in the solvent.

You can also use glassware with a smaller diameter--> thicker layer

As Dak mentioned, dissolve your Naoh in water, in small increments first. If your soup is too thick and you add to much lye to quickly then it sinks and fuses on the bottom.
