Hi. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but..

A week or two ago I spent several hours filling out that whole questionnaire for a new member. The banner went away. Now the banner is back and it looks like I'm at the very beginning of the questions again. What gives?

first of all thanks to all of You to being a part of this nice and unique community.
Just some thoughts regarding the questionnaire. I liked the idea of the promoted member ship based on attitude, quality of contribution and intention.

As I saw the questionnaire I started the questions but immediately stopped when the question arised that could be answered by anyone using a search engine for a minute. I can´t really see the point of doing that. What is the idea after theses kind of questions?

I read probably through all the FAQ, Wiki and most of the stuff here in the forums. I learned so many things with all the information that is available. This site feels like family for quite a while now.
I’m fine to post my thoughts in the welcome area, although I would like to contribute in the sub forums as I want to share my experience on specific topics. I´m not in a hurry, and this moment will come in the future I hope.

Maybe I missed a point with the questionnaire and I will have a look at it again.

You would be shocked to learn how many people join the Nexus and seem incapable of performing a basic search. The point of questions that can be easily researched using the internet is to show new members that we encourage self-directed research and searching rather than asking for spoonfeeding. If you can easily find the answer yo your question, there's no need to clutter the forum with threads that amount to asking someone else to do a search for you.

We hope that by introducing the concept of doing basic research via the questionnaire, new members will realize they have the capacity to answer many of their own questions and that doing so is expected and even encouraged here.

I just can speak for myself. I already had experience before I came here and second I love to do extensive research when I´m new and interested in a topic.
One can easily find everything that is needed in this large pool of knowledge. As a consequence one does not ask so many questions here and is somehow not so visible in the forum.

I think I got the wrong impression that if one answers all the questions correctly one willl be immediately promoted to full memeber ship.
I hope I´ll convince you in the old way
