Morning all, under ideal conditions (germ rate, humidity, temp), what should I expect for germination germination times? I started them on Friday. Also, what have been peoples successful hail Mary attempts a growing this marvelous vine? Seed that you didn't think would grow, but did anyways. nemesauce attached the following image(s): IMG_20150329_075931442.jpg (1,351kb) downloaded 143 time(s). Just a quick little update: I transplanted into a bigger pot, and the last pic is a sturdy metal table that will act as a trellis (kind of like a scrog net). nemesauce attached the following image(s): IMG_20150414_084707657.jpg (1,223kb) downloaded 125 time(s). NOICE i also have one seedling growing at about the same stage as yours. (Got 45 seeds from wss on ebay, and they may have been old, only had one germination.) i've seen caapi growlogs on STS with ~99% germination within about two weeks to two months. *ALL WAYS WITH LOVE

I'll keep it updated for sure! Glad you guys like seen as how this will be an indoor fella I thought it would need something good to clime on, and I found the table by my dumpster. I have plans to make a more vertical one out of a big dead tree limb, this one will summer outside. MaNoMaNoM wrote: NOICE i also have one seedling growing at about the same stage as yours. I was a little worried, the vendor told me the germ rate was getting a bit dodgy on these ones, but hey, another one looks like its starting to do something worth the time IMO. I've seen a few grow logs and it looks like mostly they use a diluted rooting hormone to help things along, but I don't do anything special, just put them in dirt. Are you guys on sts?, I think I'll start being more active there as well.

And I also wanted to post on your springtime garden thread, I love your outdoor space and it gave me not only a butt load of inspiration, but also impetus to get into a place with a backyard.

I have a small back yard, the big tree is what makes it awsome. He even grew a little branch down low to see what's going on lol. That's awesome reminds me of my dads back yard, while everyone keeps perfect lawns, he keeps the back full of huge old willows, poplar, and maple trees, it is like a forest in the middle of an urban monotony.

Yeah I really despise cutting grass but unfortunately I live in a nice neighborhood, if I didn't cut the grass all nice I would appear too out of place. I would love to just live in the middle of the woods. But I can do what I please in the back yard.

New addition, and second set of leaves on my first seedling. New seedling. First seedling. Also just observation, one that I have made before with other species of plants. The cotyledons seem to have gotten stuck in the seed coat on my first seedling, the second seedling I removed as much of the wing as possible before it germinated and the cotyledons grew upwards with the seedling. This doesn't seem hurt caapi's, but the one with trapped cotyledons isn't growing as fast as the second one and from experience I have determined that this could be the cause. Lol, I need help with structuring my post with images better, can I post comments between each pic? Instead of having them buched together, If so how? Sorry my noobishness. Also can I request that this thread gets moved to a more appropriate sub-forum? Thanks, Neme. nemesauce attached the following image(s): IMG_20150501_105233.jpg (348kb) downloaded 40 time(s).
