I've been soaking up the knowledge the nexus has to offer since November and thought I'd finally say hello to everyone.
I'm a psychotherapist with a strong belief in the healing power of psychedelics. I've been curious about perception and consciousness since early childhood and used art as a means to explore them. By the time I was in high school, I had gained an interest in medicinal plants and their relationship to mental health, which inevitably led me to indigenous healing practices and shamanism. College brought research and experimentation with many plants and compounds (but never DMT), including the successful treatment of opiate addiction with saliva divinorum and psilocybin (short-term withdrawal management/foundation laying and long-term pattern rewiring, respectively). My master's program didn't provide enough flexibility to explore psychedelics academically and free time didn't really exist, so my interests had to take a back seat for a while. Post graduation, I refocused my attention on the psychedelic experience. I'm considering doing my doctoral work in the study of consciousness but I'm still trying to figure things out.
Knowing my interests, a friend asked me about DMT last fall and, since my experience with it at the time was only what I've heard and read, I began focusing most of my research time on it. I have no clue how much time I've spent reading here at the nexus.
SWIM (who has more chem knowledge than I do) got a 2.14% yield using what he learned from Earthwalker's ACRB Tek and Cyb/ChemisTryptaMan's Max Ion tek. We both thought that was a good first try.
Using OpeningPandorasBox's the Key V2, I was having great results until I tried pharma (5g crude Rue extract, 200mg DMT citrate, with some vaping as well). The last few attempts at vaporization since then haven't exactly worked out; I can't take the last hit. It's almost like it automatically chokes me. I'm hoping it was just a coincidental correlation and that maybe it had something to do with seasonal allergies. I won't know until SWIM works his magic again.
I'm excited and thankful to be a part of this community and while I'm not the most vocal of people, I'll be sure to try to chime in from time to time instead of just reading.
