SWIM is to make their first extract. SWIM was thinking of using the LazyMan tec, but wanted to ask lots of questions before proceeding.
1) In the Lazy Man tec, it says: "If you choose to powder the root bark the waterless de-fat method without the need for acid uses only solvent and has proven to work well with any kind of powdered alkaloid bearing root bark." Does this mean SWIM will only need to complete the Dry defat (no water) without acid, where you mix the lighter fluid with the MHRB powder? This seems unlikely, I am basically looking for the simplest method to extract from powdered MHRB in the UK without freezing etc.
2) Supplies.. it seems ronson and coleman (only in UK to avoid added chemicals in US) are the best lighter fuels to use. If SWIM were to proceed with the Lazy Man, how about Lye? Where can this be easily obtained?
3) The Lazy Man tec is for unpowdered bark, and doesnt go into much detail when instructing how to do the same technique with powdered bark. Is SWIM right in assuming its the same process but with one big extraction at the beginning, left for about an hour or so?
4) SWIM intends to make changa once extracted. Is this simply a case of evaporating the spice in more lighter fluid, putting in the chosen herb then mixing until the light fuel evaporates?
as you can tell SWIM is a bit of a n00b so all infomation would be greatly appriciated.

My advice: Look at the Limonene extraction teks!! 69ron's worked amazingly for my first attempt. Jorkest's looks wicked aswell! Just get hold of some Limonene - Mistral can supply in the uk at a decent price. Esp if ur making Changa 69rons method is the easiest! Mine came out bloody amazing balaganist is a fictional character who loves playing the game of infinite existence. he amuses himself by posting stories about his made up life in our plane of physical reality. his origins are in other dimensions... he merely comes here to play.

Definitly drop the lazy man's tek, it really it not worth it. Bad yields, and product of poor quality is the result. Noman's tek is actually easier, and gets far better results. Don't worry about an ammonia wash. Also, check out Jorkest's D-Limonene tek (http://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=4812), I haven't tried it yet, but I will next time.
Please don't do the lazy man's tek, you will regret it.

I totally agree with fakkz. Use Noman's tek, as it is pretty fail safe. I have been to 4 different DIY shops in my area and they all have caustic soda (lye). On the back it says 99-100% sodium hydroxide. I am going to try the dry defat for the first time tonight to see if it makes much difference. I will post the results tomorrow.
I find it impossible to fond limonene (orange oil) in London, but i could just be looking in all the wrong places. Good luck!

Thank you all for very quick and informative replies. I am having trouble locating 69ron's tek.. but am I right in thinking Jorkest's is a newer and perhaps improved version of the same thing? And also, where would SWIM locate a UK supplier of d-limonene and Fumaric acid? Thank you very much again
