Here is a fascinating article about the use of sub-trip-effect tryptamines to literally CURE cluster headaches--which are often referred to as "suicide headaches," because they are so bad that many regular sufferers end up committing suicide to escape the pain. The report was so convincing that a study was conducted through Harvard med school, and the effect verified. btw, I found the article from a google search on "beta blocker psychedelic." The reason I searched that is because DMT definitely does increase blood pressure and heart rate significantly (at least on the "first rush" ). I'm older, I have slightly high blood pressure and slightly fast pulse, and I was thinking of taking a simple beta blocker (like propranolol/inderal) with the idea that my pulse and BP wouldn't rise so much when smoking DMT (which I haven't yet tried). And that got me thinking.... Propranolol is one of the first (actually, I think THE first) beta blockers made, and it's is GENERAL, i.e., it works on all the beta receptors. It has often been touted as a great anti-anxiety drug, which can be taken before an anxiety causing event, to greatly reduce the anxiety response (of course, higher heart rates and BP go with anxiety because they're all responses to epinephrine (adrenalin). Propranolol blocks that response. SO....I then got the interesting idea that perhaps using propranolol with DMT might possibly block so-called "bad trips!!" Really, this is quite plausible--and I've never heard this idea mentioned! Anyhow, I will probably TRY THIS. I plan to monitor my heartrate, etc., during my first smoking tries, to see how I'm reacting (I'll do this with an electronic monitor, from which I can transfer the data to my computer). I'll try with and without propranolol, to see whether there's an effect on heart rate, and also to see it there might be less anxiety and anxiety type responses. It'll be awhile before I do this, however. Don't hold your breath. Probably at least a month--I haven't even done an extraction yet. IMPORTANT NOTE: I am NOT making a recommendataion to people to use this drug. And first of all, it is a SERIOUS DRUG--taking twice the normal dose, for example, can DANGEROUSLY lower heart rate. Mixing drugs can be VERY DANGEROUS. I will want to do considerably more research before I'm ready to assure myself that there's no conflict between tryptamine use and beta blocker use.

Here is an article from Erowid, where someone describes their use of mushrooms with propranolol. His impression is that the emotional component of the trip was lessened because of the propranolol. He has the idea that taking propranolol AFTER an especially bad trip would be a good thing...

I remember reading in R.Strassman's Book, The spirit molecule. Some peoples blood pressure etc, dropped to the point the person turned pale. Although, Its been a number of months since I read the book. But I am sure one of the subjects went pale! Cannot remember if it was both heart rate and blood pressure. Pretty sure both dropped really low, then went back to normal as it would. I am not sure if its different every time? Is it? Like one time you take some DMT, your blood pressure gos way up, and the next time it dose not go up as much? Maybe if this is true, that there is a flux in blood pressure and plus etc, with each use. That blood pressure/pulse might for some reason, drop a great deal next time you use some DMT? Or maybe its the same every time? If your blood pressure and plus go up, it will go up every time you use DMT. I hope all that made sense. I am pretty sure my blood pressure and pulse is fine. Last I was told it was 146/65, pulse was 69. If anything I want to try keep my Blood pressure and pulse at an avg level. If my above thoughts are correct about the flux in blood pressure/pulse levels with each use of DMT. I am pretty sure there are some foods that can lower blood pressure. And pulse can be lowered by doing good old cardio exercise. If I remember, I will ask my mate how to lower Blood pressure without using any drugs and such. Hes a crazy guru when it comes to bodybuilding. When you go on roids you need to manage things like blood pressure and such. 100% sure he will know something more natural, I just need to remember to ask next Monday when I train with him. Many tryps are also good for migraine, the other form of suicide-inducing head pain. I resorted to a mini-dose of D once when I couldn't get the night pharmacist to dispense me Sumatriptan (also a tryptamine). Seemed to work, but I often get aura without the pain in my migraines so it'd be impossible to know.

I suffer from very strong migraines and I find the best medicine I can get is marijuana. I have never tried DMT, but I will when I get the chance. Mescaline has also helped, cure me of a migraine, but it took quite a while to kick in so I am not sure if it was the mescaline, or just the natural progression of the migraine. SWIM used to be a regular headache sufferer, about 2-4 times a week, until he started playing around with LSD. From then on, he no longer got recurring headaches. Now he might get 2-4 in a year. He no longer uses LSD, but still uses 100% natural tryptamine hallucinogens (5-MeO-DMT, bufotenine, DMT, and LSA/LSH) on a monthly basis. You may remember me as 69Ron. I was suspended years ago for selling bunk products under false pretenses. A brilliant and horrific description of clusterheadache: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/symphony.htmlIt's surprising how many patients are still unaware of the tryptamine remedy, or don't take it seriously... are the pharmaceutics companies so evil that they suppress this info deliberately to sell more of their own 'medicins'? Do they view non-patentable botanicals as threats to their business that must be actively suppressed? That would be really devilish... Mushrooms were banned in Holland, politicians claiming they have no medicinal properties and are dangerous. Lies, ignorance and foul play - who are the criminals here!?

User "fuckyourmother" needs to be banned. He added an image link to an image at: http://spamtheweb.com/ul...d/300509/52704_hueg3.jpgThis image is super large, takes forever to load. He did this specifically to be an ass. Plaase also ban all images and links to this web site: http://spamtheweb.comYou may remember me as 69Ron. Why does user "fuckyourmother" only appear when I post a reply? That's strange? Does anyone else see this user when they post a reply? I don't see this user in normal mode. Very weird. Did he hack the Nexus site? How is he doing this? Iāll just ignore this user for the time being. Let me get back to the thread topic. āSpiritual enlightenmentā is definitely a medicinal property that I would say is one of the most powerful medicinal properties a plant could have and mushrooms definitely have that property. I would say thatās one of the most important medical uses of any plant. They should reconsider their laws and remove the ban on mushrooms. Iād rather see people becoming spiritually enlightened then drunk any day. Many people jump off of bridges to their death while drunk on alcohol, but that never makes the news. If people jump off of a bridge on mushrooms, that makes the news. Itās all so twisted and illogical. Governments allow people to die from binge drinking but wonāt allow people to use mushrooms which are far safer than alcohol. Whereās the logic in that? You may remember me as 69Ron. I was suspended years ago for selling bunk products under false pretenses. Thatās userās post is gone now even when I post a reply. Thanks spamtheweb.com should not allow super huge images like that to be hosted from their site. Thatās really bad. Itās good that you canāt put links like that in your signature! Just imagine the problems a guy like that could then cause! You may remember me as 69Ron. Yeah this guy I know takes a few HBWR seeds now and then to break up the cycle of tension headaches he gets with really good effect. He also says DMT wiped out the headaches for like two whole days!! Not suprising, considering the anxiolytic properties of DMT..Salvia (while not a tryptamine) helps a lot, too. FYI- Anything I post here is just stuff made up by my crazy brother who lives in my closet. I feed him jellybeans.

Please tell me how that works... I cut my cacti in half took about a 4 inch slice out of it and cleaned it up. I rooted the top half and ate the slice. The migraine was gone in 2 hours, and they normally last until I fall asleep. And I have tried vaporizing DMT to cure a migrane recently, and it works, but I started tripping before the pain was totally gone, which was an unpleasant way to start a trip, that was not very strong anyway. Thanks for reporting back. That pretty strongly supports the basis of the article. Just one more reason these substances should be legalized...

this has been reported in the late 90's/early 00's with psychonauts/ravers who were into 2Cx compounds; propranolol was taken as a way to counteract body-load and anxiety from the phenethylamines strassman did a study where dmt was administered in conjunction with pindolol "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." ~ hassan i sabbah "Experiments are the only means of attaining knowledge at our disposal. strassman did a study where dmt was administered in conjunction with pindolol I didn't know about their use with 2Cx compounds. Regarding Strassman, his use of pindolol was an attempt to understand which serotonin receptors were engaged by DMT. Pindolol is a beta-blocker, but it also blocks the serotonin 1A receptor. It turns out that, even though DMT does bind to the serotonin 1A receptor, previously blocking it with pindolol in fact ENHANCES the DMT psychedelic response and (I'm glad I've looked this up) apparently ALSO enhances the hypertensive effect of DMT. That suggests (for reasons that are unclear theoretically) that it MIGHT happen that propranolol could have the same, paradoxical effect of INCREASING BP when used with DMT. Since part of my reasoning for the idea of using propranolol was to keep control of BP, I don't think I would risk it now.
