Due to lack of much time, i might/ or not, have a little issue regarding my extraction.
About 6 weeks ago, i got started on a simple stb so i basified 500gr of mimosa with alot of NaOH. 1:1 i believe. I used 5 liters water for it, since using like double or higher ratio as sometimes suggested never made it troublesome for me.
After that i added salt ( dosage not known, but enough ) and around 200ml of naphta ( i prefer alot of very small pulls since it goes faster when crashing out etc.. )
So no time for 6 weeks to go on with the stb, it was put in a big hdpe plastic gasoline container.
Now today i had the misfortune i could only use a 10liter glass bucket for wine brewing.
So i had to make it fit the 10liter glass because otherwise the siphoning of the naphta would be too hard.
I transfered all the mimosa base to the glass, added water so i could syphon the naphta from the bottleneck. and to be sure i added my last NaOH i have here atm, i can buy more if that would be a solution so...
I guess the NaOH that i added with the 5 liters of water was around 100gr ( didnt weigh it out ) and dont have ph paper around. Anyway, the separation of the mimosa and the naphta went good, no emulsion or anything.
The naphta was very stained (from the mimosa and cloudy ), i guessed that was normal since it was not much naphta and 500gr of starting material.
I did a sodium carbonate wash, what made that the naptha after separtion was back to normal golden like liquid ( i use good naptha, good brand, good evap etc... )
So now i have the 200ml that i put in the freezer 4 hours ago and normally if i do it this way, after 1 hour i start seeing the formation of x-tals and next day i am sure all crashed out well, but now its 4 hours and i dont see anything.
The mimosa is good as far as i know, its the one i allays have. It can be that maybe its a ilttle old ( +-2 years, but allways stored out of light, no humidity and little to no airflow, the only negative storage thing i come up with is that it can become a little warmer there than room temperature ( normally here 20C, but i guess it could have become 25C at some times.. )
Maybe it is because i waited 6 weeks before doing my first pull?
Also what i saw, was like the x-tals from the dmt that i saw between my organic layer and nps, i really saw a whole bunch of needle like x-tals as when i would be doing a RE-X.
I still have every liquid i used today ( also the one that was used for carbonate wash ).
So i guess nothing is lost,
but anyone has a clue what happened?
