Hello everyone here,
After much debate within myself I've came to the conclusion that I want to explore my own mind through sober and psychedelic means, as I think they both have a great validity and effectiveness in finding answers to my questions. I've heard about this site from numerous people, and after browsing around for a week or two I've decided that this is a great place to start, it is a wise and intelligent place and honestly it's hard not to feel overwhelmed at first but I know I can get the hang of it, there is so much knowledge here and I honestly can not wait to jump right in. I've hit a lot of rough patches in my day-to-day life, ranging from money to addiction, and sometimes ordinary depression that I sought to escape from with the use of substances. In my most recent experience I realized that I have power over myself and that as much as I did not want to admit it, sometimes other people can truly help you, which is part of the reason I came here.
That being said, I look forward to conversing with each and every one of you so that we can all grow together and increase our wealth of knowledge.
I've had experience with multiple psychedelic substances and hallucinogens in general but I must admit that my experience with DMT specifically is still young, I've come across the molecule several times but have never truly broken through, in part I believe this is because the way we went about smoking it was ineffective and wasteful, which I still regret and viewed it as disrespectful to the chemical itself.
I aim to learn more about not just the chemicals, but the mindset they induce, as I have so many questions. Good day and be well.

Hello and welcome, one thing you mention about the site having some great discussions is very true, I was browsing around various forums but I kept coming back to this one as the discussions were less of a level of a 'basic cheap thrill lets get high' discussion, but also people were having intelligent conversations about their consciousness, spirituality with the possibility of other dimensions all thrown into the mix. I came about DMT the other way round, I have always been interested in consciousness and the afterlife, and learned about DMT this way, either way I do believe it is all intertwined so you're in the right place if that's what you're interested in My experience is also still young with DMT, and there's a wide range of different levels of psychonauts on this forum which all adds to the experience. Hopefully you will share you first breakthrough when it happens

I found something similar...That one can live a contented life being at peace with no answers. When I mentioned sober means I did mean meditation, but I realize there are other means including some I am already experienced with. I've practiced internally focused martial arts for years, things like Tai Chi, Baguazhang, and had a passing experience with Reiki at some point. Practicing these puts me in a meditative state and I've always been curious about how the ancient orientals viewed psychedelic substances, and I'd like to meld together my practice and any given psychedelic. I've also been meaning to begin studying Western and Eastern philosophy as I think they're both useful for sober reflection, especially after I've had a psychedelic experience. As for other questions besides the influence of psychedelics on martial arts, I've always had strange dreams even before I started using substances. I figure since both dreams and psychedelics unlock parts of my mind I'm not normally connected to (even if the actual purpose of dreams is still under debate), perhaps the Magic can help me get just a little closer to understanding what my dreams mean. I have no doubt I'll come across even more questions. And thank you all for the warm welcome
