I am travelling to Pucallpa in Peru on Wednesday and want to do an ayahuasca retreat or work with a shaman for 2 weeks. I have a couple of contacts for centres but have had no reply and was wondering if anyone could recommend someone that they have worked with? All the centres online are way out of my price range mostly looking for 100 dollars a day.

In San Francisco de Yarinacocha there's Elisa, there's Don Mateo, and a few more. In the other nearby villages are others too.. From what i remember the above stated charge like 150 soles per ceremony including basic bed and breakfast, of course price is negotiable for long stays. US $100 per day would probably be at the bigger centres away from San Francisco i assume.

You can always stay at a hostal or basic hotel and just do ceremonies only. Cost from 50 Soles, up. Ask around, plenty travellers in San Francisco.

I didn't stay with them in Pucallpa, but I met the grandfather and worked as a patient with his son (grandson)? ...The sweetest, most compassionate people you'll meet. And super duper legit. No dogma, just love.

I stayed at a place near Pucallpa called Santuario Huishtin - I really liked it there. Also a little cheaper at $70 a day (or cheaper for longer stays).

Completely family run - the maestro is assisted by his wife and his brother and nephew, and the wives of the brother and nephew run the rest of the center (like cooking and other things). Some nights it was just my wife and I with there family - they even had their little girl Mune in ceremony one night (she didnt drink, but just sat and listened to the songs - only 3 years old!).
