Hi all!

So, I've always been a big fan of mixing classical music and trips. In fact, I'd say 400ug and the 1812 overture ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbxgYlcNxE8 ) is probably the closest I've ever been to touching the face of God.

Last time I did a trip with my mates, we pulled a page out of the current trials in psychedelics and collaborated on a specially made mix, to be played over headphones and with eyemasks on, while under mescalito's influence. It was a profoundly moving experience, and over 3 and half hours we had classical, rock, blues, stoner rock, electronic, psychedelic rock, and other bits and pieces.

Afterwards, we all agreed that Shpongle sucked ass for mescaline, and Queens of the Stone Age rocked. However, we were all very much won over by the classical music more than anything. So, when we return to the format again for Lucy, we're going to go more top heavy with the classic - perhaps even all of it.

Therefore, I thought I'd open it up to suggestions? I've got plenty myself, but we do have a lot of time to fill on the lucy playlist, so what do you find the most moving classical music to listen to on a trip?

You can never go wrong with Bach... I have a particular fondness for his epic choral pieces:

J.S. Bach - Magnificat Anima Mea

J.S. Bach - Cum Sancto Spiritu

Ta - I'm not overly familiar with Bach, but not too keen on his more... how do I put it... pomp and circumstance? type pieces.

I loved Bach's Air while under the influence, however. Can you suggest more like that?

Hearing that song while tripping on mushrooms was one of the very most beautiful and profound experiences of my life. Even after the song was over, I heard the piano crystal clear in my head. That song still shakes the inner core of me.

I discovered Bach while tripping on mescaline. I had a record I bought for like 25 cents I threw on for "what the hell?" "let's try this!" music. It blew my mind!

Rimky Korsakv's "Sheherezade" would be a good bet, too. Very powerful piece.

I could go on and on! There's too much good music!

Just on a bit of a side note, there's a bunch of us who are considering mixing DMT with the afore mentioned 1812 Overture. As long as we can get it to work for 15 minutes, I'm thinking the climax of the music may actually blow my mind, haha

Nice thread man, I totally agree with you, classical music is really amazing when it comes to tripping, it blasts you into a more real state than ever. I randomly put Peer gynt - Morning mood in my playlist while under the influence on mushrooms, and my buddy and I started laughing super hard, non stop, the joy in the music was outstanding! Such beauty it was..Pure LOVE, I will never forget that feeling, it was like being touched my god.

My favorites is.Chopin, Edvard Grieg and Rachmaninoff.

Let us not forget that no classical-music-while-tripping list should exclude Beethoven's 9th Symphony!

Glenn Gould performing Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 5. It was recorded with multiple microphones in various positions in the room and mixed an a cinematic fashion, some parts being close-up and others from afar. Scriabin himself was obsessed with the occult mysticism prevalent at the turn of the century. I found the color immensely satisfying whilst entranced.

Wendy Carlos - Switched on Bach. One of my favorite albums of all time. I love that purity of the moog sound... Gould said that Carlos's recordings of the 3rd Brandenburg concerto were the best rendition he'd ever heard.
