Greetings!

Not so long ago, I decided to step into the world of DMT.

Having my first some extractions behind me, I remembered an experiment from elementary school, we were making crystals out of blue stone (blue vitriol). The experiment suggested that we can make a necklace with little crystals of blue stone if we put a thread into the solution and leave it overnight in a cold place. Which I did, even if the necklace then was not to be carried around the neck for the not-so-beneficial effects of the blue stone to the skin.

Hey, I decided to do the same with the spicy spin on it. This is the result:
After a hot pull, I put approximately 20 cm of thread in a glass with solvent and left one end hanging from the edge of the glass. After 18h on -24C, I slowly pulled the thread from the solvent, all of the crystals were elegantly hanging on it. Love Aprox 2/3 of all the beautifully white crystals sticked on a thread and were dry within a minute. It is worth mentioning that this is a very simple thread, nothing special about it, except when looking at it closely it seems that quite a lot of little fibers are stemming out of it (and making nice little hanging spots for the crystals to form).

Hopefully some of you with smaller extractions might benefit from this »hack« as well. Rolling eyes It is certainly not original idea (let alone my idea), but I haven't seen it around here yet.

It was STB, MHRB, hot pulls, solvent used light naphtha, freeze precip at -24C for 18h.

Brilliant! This way you avoid scraping and fan usage.Cool Gonna do this in my upcoming ext. running low on the magicBig grin

Well, some of the spice was laying /sticking to the bottom, so you will still need to fan & scrape it. But just the feeling of taking the precious ones out so simply will make your day, I'm sure. Smile

This is the first time I've seen this and it's awesome! I remember making sugar necklaces from saturated sugar solutions too and this is a creative way of implementing what you learned way back when.
Thumbs up
Aislin is a fictional character in the book called "Life." Aislin's "dreams" are fictitious experiences meant to explore theoretical concepts.
Aislin may switch between third and first person point of view. Aislin apologizes for any confusion this may cause.

haha, I was literally thinking about doing this very thing in the shower this morning.

Along with trying various absorbent materials to make crystalline art.

Science in schools...god bless it.

Nice.

Use stainless steel cable and you can load it straight into the bowl.. just remember to weigh your cable before and after the crystallisation experiment Wink

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Using string suspended from the ceiling with seed crystals in a round bottomed flask with a large amount of highly saturated solvent may provide some very nice crystals this way Big grin
I believe this is the technique used in labs to grow crystals. Should come out looking like an explosion stemming from the suspended seed crystals if it's done right no?

Just goes to show that school is useful for something after all! Very happy

Other things that come to mind to work could be a guitar string (those are typically nickel though, would this be a problem?)

Or non-teflon coated bicycle shifter or brake cable?

Wow, the idea is developing... nice Smile This is what I love about this site! Thumbs up

Let's not forget that crystals need some sort of "hanging spots" (just as climbers to resist the gravity) which the thread offers with those microfibers. I wonder if the stainless steel would provide them as well - probably one should scratch the steel first. Unless you use guitar strings as HumbleTraveler suggested. These already are quite curled by themselves Pleased

Nickel? I am not a chemist so don't know anything about metal reactions in different solvents..

Grab your wires, experiment and keep us photo-posted! Cool

Try splitting the end of a string up into separate thin layers about 1/3-1/2 way up & doing it with that. May be interesting. If solvent is saturated enough maybe the whole thing gets crystal formations on it that meet or float individually close together Big grin
