Family Guy has a really awesome mushroom episode from last season as well as an episode where they lick frogs from Columbia and trip as if it were bufotonin.

Blue Mountain State has an ayahausca trip I think they do it during the Drug Olympics episode

Yes! They quite blatantly reference "Dimethyltryptamine" in one episode. Also the purple girls name is "LSP." Coincidence Confused

May I add, Avatar the Last Airbender has a scene where Saka ingests "the magic cactus juice" and trips out.

Homers Chili Trip

The Slow Motion version is awesome.

Then there's this.

I'm not not licking toads

Big grin
Images of broken light,
Which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on...

Not particularly DMT-related, but here are a few more:

Pan's Labyrinth (Mandrake makes an appearance, not to mention the rest of the movie)

Land of the Lost (the psychedelic binge in the desert at the end)

Domino (the group of bounty hunters are served mescaline-spiked coffee or tea around the ending, they swerve off the road and trip out in the desert)

Rango (the walking cactuses, the wise old armadillo, there's even a direct reference to Fear and Loathing right at the start of the movie where you can see Rango ending up on the windshield of The Red Shark, with Raoul Duke behind the wheel with the iconic cigarette. Not to mention the fact that Rango himself seems modeled after the Fear and Loathing poster:

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus (if this movie does not have DMT as an inspiration I don't know what is)

Shrooms (the horror movie, title says all. Haven't seen it, supposedly it's pretty bad, it is about mushroom-picking teens getting butchered. I read that they reference the mushrooms as being deathcaps, just to make it sound more ominous. Ah well..)

The Holy Mountain

Oh, and there is an episode in the TV series Weeds that has an Ayahuasca scene. Can't recall which season though, either 2nd or 3rd I believe.

Another movie that I found highly psychedelic (although none are specifically mentioned): Pi ( 1998 ), highly highly recommended!

Well it's not a film, but it's very directly about DMT and I don't think it's been mentioned yet...

In one of the recent episodes of "Wilfred" (the US version), Ryan (Elijah Wood) takes Ayahuasca in an attempt to come to terms with his mental problems.

This is the first time I'm aware of that Ayahuasca has been used as the central focus of an entire episode of a show like this (a weekly drama/comedy not a documentary or just being mentioned in passing). It's not portrayed very realistically IMO, but I still found it highly entertaining.

Initially a French comic strip but turned into a movie was Asterix the Gaul. Whilst no direct references to DMT (that I remember) there was a character an old druid called Getafix (subtle!) was forever making "magical potions" to enhance the heroes powers.

I would also recommend Waking Life by Richard Linklater. Not explicitly about tripping as such, but anyone who has tripped should enjoy it.

"Poltergeist".

this movie is all to do with
crossing over, the spirit world, etc...

in one particular scene,
the lead characters stand outside,
breathing the air of rebirth,
having just come through
an experience with the dead.

they are speaking with
a renewed enthusiasm for life...
...the american housewife
verbally ends the scene by
taking a deep sunny breath,
only to exclaim with awe and gratitude...

"Mmm, smell the mimosa!"

...that's a blatant reference indeed
if ever i saw one Pleased

Naked Lunch is pretty obvious.
"I think human consciousness, is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware, nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself, we are creatures that should not exist by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self; an accretion of sensory, experience and feeling, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everybody is nobody. Maybe the honorable thing for our species to do is deny our programming, stop reproducing, walk hand in hand into extinction, one last midnight - brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal."Rust Cohle

I actually think that Frozen has a lot of Aya references in it. The opening score and the trolls.

Also...

The multiple dimensions and the concept of love connecting everything resonated with me in Interstellar.

When Scarlett Johansson said "I feel like I'm colonising my brain" in Lucy, I remember turning to my sister and saying "the person who wrote has definitely done Ayahuasca!".

and there is a definite reference in Noah when Anthony Hopkins gives Russell Crowe that tea Smile

I most definitely second that. Also, the hyper-jump scene;thru the worn hole, WAS the 5meo DMT 'light tunnel'.Big grin

As far as Poltergeist, was it known then that DMT was in mimosa? I thought that was a more recent discovery. Possibly a cool instance of ironic coincidence.

I rarely watch TV,but had access to one last night and flipping thru the(pathetic selection of crap that was on all) channels, caught the very end of what i guess is a new sitcom starring Elliot Gould (times must be tough). At the point i joined the program, a character who had ingested peyote was thankful that the effects had not kicked in, and he believed they would not. Apparently his gratitude at not getting off was because if he had gotten high, it would have proven him less than a friend somehow (???). I don't get it either, sorry. But then the character did begin to 'trip his face off ' in Gould 's words, and he and another old comedic actor who I'm not sure i recognized decided to 'mess with him' and began physically worrying the poor guy, doing the 'you're in a tunnel' thing with their hands. Ugh.

Just posting this admittedly pointless narration cuz i thought the timing with this post was.. .synchronous.
Very happy

Oh yeah, can someone point me to the Adventure Time episode that mentions 'dimethyltryptamine'? Searched fruitlessly. Love that show but don't get to watch often.

While overall a terrible, terrible movie, Noah has a scene where Anthony Hopkins administers a tea that looks very much like aya to the star, forget who he is, in a cave, and he receives a vision. If you get a free copy it's worth watching up to that point then throw the rest of the movie away.
Fear, belief, love phenomena that determined the course of our lives. These forces begin long before we are born and continue after we perish. We cross and recross our old paths like figure skaters; our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.

It's from the episode called "The Real You", which is quite fitting.

Has anyone seen the American Dad episode where Roger eats a special bird and has a short intense out of body trip? It's a blatant DMT reference... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whw-0yeEzzE

Its the part where the circus guy shows up with his centipede driven cart thing..and finds his crew with the ants..the main ant guy starts making up excuses to everyone about why they're running off..saying how its because of a secret meeting. Then at one point says code "dmt"..amongst other strings of 3 letters

yes it's true! Smile A Bugs Life!

also, from long memory, one that is rarely mentioned anywhere is
Brainstorm (83) ..an interesting film, Natalie Wood's last, and also featuring the always entertaining Christopher Walken..it's about a company developing a machine that records your mental experiences and allows another person to replay and also experience them..then a guy dies when the machine is recording..now what's on the recording?
..at one point, when there is concern of the project being investigated by various government agencies..i recall the DMT is (are) mentioned..
Nexians, if you don't know this movie, it's in your arena..

The series Fringe is also ripe with references to all sorts of hallucinogens, and has multiple LSD scenes.
A compilation for your amusement:

There's also a reference to Bufo Alvarius:
