Greetings all. SlickStick here. I'm working on a masters in chemistry and I've been chatting away with a lot of the TA's and some of the post-docs. Everyone seems to like to pay with psychedelics and other things and DMT is something I've had before.

So to "pop my cherry" as the others call it, I figured I'd try my hand at running through a DMT tek. The issue is, as a grad-student I don't have tons of cash to blow on lots of root bark. I want to be as efficient as possible. I practically live in a lab and, while I don't want to say carte-blanche, we are allowed and encouraged to have side projects of curiosity.

Aside from my introduction, I wanted to ask my major question. Of all the teks out there which is the most efficient? I have all manner of condenser, funnels, distilling equipment. I want to do this right, as best I can, without too many fuck-up runs. I'd like to be able to show that I'm a capable chemist and get a great yield.

I don't want to seem like I want to show off or show-up folks, but a lot of the teks I've read through are a bit convoluted. What's the most efficient tek in terms of yield out there ?

Seeing as your trained to some degree in chemistry this should be very simple for you.
If you have access to distillation equipment & know how to safely use it, you'll save a whole lot of cash distilling & re-using non polar solvents.

If your looking for an impressive product quickly, take a look at ice's clean extraction journal.

Since you have the equipment at your disposal it should be very easy for you & the equipment used is laid out already.

Very simple procedure.

Alternately, cybs hybrid salt tek is perfect for beginners, but you may end with a yellow product & want to clean it to get pure white.
Yellow is fine to smoke, but white is nice to look at & feels good to accomplish Laughing

Cheers for the response. I was looking through the different teks. In the wiki, I don't seem to see the Ice clean tek. Why is one of the Cyb tek's "max ion" locked?

Google ice clean journal. It's not a tek that brings anything really new to the table.
It's just a write up of the method another member uses. He just happens to bring all the information together & use it in a way that implements lab equipment instead of the usual kitchen chemist equipment. Google ice clean extraction journal.

& i have no idea why the max ion tek is locked. Might be because the tek comes as a downloadable pdf document.

It does work extremely well though. I've yet to see below a 2% yeild using cybs tek & mhrb.
It's become my goto method. Cleanup can be added after via whatever method you prefer to remove impurities & coloration.

Forgot to mention cybs tek can very easily be modified to be done using the equipment you have on hand.
It should come as common sense, tek stays the same, containers & method of heating changes.

Greetings.

1ce finds that chloroform pulls very cleanly so you might want to give that a try. If your lab has any sonication equipment you will find that to be your friend also.

How about sublimation? I'd love to hear some more about that for DMT purification.

β€œThere is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
