Hello everyone,

I am about to partake in my second ayahuasca ceremony in a couple of weeks.
Since I have been having some bowel movement issues my doctor prescribed me Mebeverine.

I couldn't find anything on the net about the interaction of this medicine with MAOI.

Do any of you guys know something about it?
Any suggestions on how long I would have to stop taking them before the ceremony?

Greetings,
Elpo

As a rule, generally you're supposed to abstain from all drugs before taking Aya. I don't know about this one specifically, but better safe than sorry.

Salvia Divinorum is good for IBS.

Mebeverine is a phenylethylamine derivative which has several modes of action:

1.direct smooth muscle relaxing effect including that of the vascular system;

2.an anti-muscarinic effect;

3.a local anesthetic effect which in part relates to modified sympathetic nerve transmission through noradrenaline-reuptake blockade.

The British National Formulary and its data sheet do not mention hazards with MAO inhibitors and its almost completely excreted at 24 hours. Because of its anti-muscarinic effect I would want to avoid mebeverine for 3 or more days before consuming harmalas orally.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

I was definitely planning on stopping to take the meds at least a week before, just needed to be sure it should not be even more than that.

ND, should the Salvia Divinorum be ingested in the form of leaves?

Thanks for your comments!
