Hey guys! So a few days ago I got my first batch on Acacia Confusa Root Bark 250g. I'm going to buy the materials/chemicals needed for the extraction this upcoming week. I've been reading a lot about extractions the last month, but mostly STB extractions (which may not be the best way to go with acrb).
What I'm planning on buying is: Lye, safety googles (already have safety gloves), turkey baster/eye dropper, and here is my first question. What solvent should I use? I was thinking of just buying a regular lighter fluid at a gas station or something, but I've heard people use heptane for their extractions. Would heptane or lighter fluid be best?
Also, some people say you need a gas mask when powdering the bark, but is this really necessary?
Another question I have is how do I grind it? Last night I tried grinding on piece of bark about 1-2 inches long. I can't really say I got it into a powder form, it was more like finely shredded.
I'm short on cash, and don't have a coffee grinder, so I'd rather not buy one.
Would it be easier to put into powder form when putting 50g of bark in the blender than only one piece of bark? If not, how can I make the acrb into a powder form?

And now, to my last question. As I said earlier, I've been looking mostly at STB teks and not A/B teks. I know the AB teks are best for ac but if possible I'd like to do an STB tek. It's much simpler and I want to have some experience before trying more advanced teks.
So if it's possible, how can I do an STB tek with Acacia and still yield nice white crystals?

Someone told me that if I follow Nomans tek, after my pulls I can mix the pulls with water and vinegar, shake it, let seperate and repeat ten times. Then pull of the naphtha, discard it, and put lye in the acidic solution, then add naphtha, do my pulls, freeze precip and the finished product would then yield white crystals. Is this true?

I have a lot of questions here, but I really don't want to mess up. I hope someone can help me out here. It would be greatly appreciated! Smile

Live plants. Sustainable, ethically sourced, native American owned.

Don't go stb go ATB is simplest and cybs Tek is best for an easy starter and the washing of the naphtha you're talking off is called back salting and if you plan on this look at this
https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=58064
And if you're got quality bark and follow this you'll produce bright white Xtals ,, you can use lighter fluid but naphtha is best I've herd heptane is more suited to reX but I've never used it as where I live I'm lucky shellite is available and cheap aswell $24 for 4ltrs other then that that's about all the advice I can give ..... Good luck mad welcome

Also use pipettes or glass syringes as turkey basters are very difficult I hear .....

If you can't tie your stove up for hours cooking then a stb will work and I myself have been getting good results using lazymans tek with mini a/b, my opinion is this is about as easy as it gets, and just about fool proof. I find it easier to get prepowdered bark, if you don't have a grinder. Just get your bark broke down as small as possible and then you can make your basic water pH 14 and add your bark, add a little more lye then let it break your bark down for a few days or more, unless you're in a hurry. Patience will pay off though given the bark is good. Lighter fluid is dirtier than, shellite, vm&p. Naphtha seems to do a "full" spectrum pull of your bark were as heptane/hexane are supposed to pull less oils/fats, in my area heptane/hexane are more expensive, for others it's cheaper. Just make sure you get all your supplies before starting. If you want more details to how I do mine just say something. Anyway good luckSmile

I used your procedure for my first time on ACRB. After my pulls and freezing, the dmt wouldn't stick to my glassware. I did everything to the tee but I ultimately failed. I have another 100g of acrb coming in and will buy napth since i used run of the mill lighter fluid. Other ingredients were salt (non iodizedt), lye and clear/white vinegar.

Any pointers why the dmt wouldn't stick on glass? When i was doing my clean up, the fatty layer you mention is clear/milky and not brown as you stated on your tek.

Did you burn through the whole 250g on your first try? Did you get it powdered down fairly decent? One thing I think people new extractions need to understand is not to be going for the jackpot on their first attempt until you master it on a smaller scale. This will save you money and a lot of grief. It doesn't matter whether you do a lazyman stb tek with a mini a/b or atb with mini a/b as with earthwalkers tek. They both require no cooking and generally the results are the same because they both incorporate a clean up stage. If your bark is good then you will get results with either method. Get good naphtha. Get pre powdered bark if possible if you have no means of grinding yourself, so that you get the most out of your bark.
If you haven't seen mine yet, this an extraction done at beginning of the month for the new year using lazyman stb with mini a/b. It looks identical to pic's in earthwalkers tek before he started skipping the freeze precip and just evaping off the solvent which made awesome diamond shaped xtals. Which I will try one day, but as of now it doesn't matter whether it looks like fluffy snow, big clear diamons, or big clumps of coral reef, it's all going to one place...my lungs! Just as long as it's clean.

If you read properly I never said the foam bubbly layer was never brown , anyway ,, did you disturb it in the freezer having a little peak before it was finished precipitating ...

Thanks earthwalker, just stating the obviousPleased . Main thing or point i was trying to get across though was that if they are new to this to start small then work up to a larger extraction if they feel the need. I did a couple 50g batches before i went for a bigger one, I've read on here too many time noobs screwing up large batches of bark for whatever reasons. I just hate seeing people struggle with teks, lose money, and lose valuable experience.

True this , I had a fair few fails before I research some more only to find it was quality of bark that plagued me for untold hours and frustration and financial loss , but 50gram is a great place to start Thumbs up

Damn that's a lot of DMT! I still have over 200 grams left and I've done three extractions since I posted on here. The first one with only 8 grams of bark (which I managed to get into powder form) but with no yield, which wasn't surpising due to the amount of bark I used. I then did a extraction using v-tek 1.0 with 30 grams of bark and 30 grams of lye and that gave me a small yield but not enough for a dose. So I pour the used naphtha back in the jar and then this weekend me and my friends did an extraction with the same bark/lye solution from my second extraction, and also using the same naphtha for the pulls. We evapped instead of freeze precip and got a slightly bigger yield, but not much. Me and two friends shared this and smoked it like an hour ago, but got no effects except for a little euphoria. It may have been placebo though. All my extractions have been stb, so maybe that's the problem. I've been trying to read up on mini ab's, but can't find much information about it.
I thought stb's with acacia only gave an impure product, but it seems like the yield is pretty low too.
I'd rather not do an A/B tek due to limited time and not having much experience.
I got my bark from eternity in a box, and they have pretty good reviews.
So guys, should I do an stb with mini ab next time? And could you explain the mini ab to me?
I know that it'll take some time to get the hang of it, but it's frustrating that my extractions are producing such a low yield.
Any advice you can give me would be great! And thanks a lot for the help I've already gotten from you guys. It's much appreciated!

What tek you use is totally up to you and your preferences. I myself only do stb with a mini a/b just to get rid of majority of fats from acacia. My yield is comparable to any using ab teks. Stb is geared more towards powdered material though. You can find the steps to the mini ab on earthwalkers tek.
