I guess the Nexus is now the Yelp of ayahuasca retreats?

Sucks you got ripped off though, I prefer to cut out the middle man whenever possible in situations like these (i.e. working directly with the artist) but hindsight is 20/20. In the long run though losing a bit of cash to learn someone isn't the person you thought they were might save you money in the future.

did you ask your money back ?

did you spam your story om more forums, facebook etc ?

are you going back to peru ?

did you inform the lokal police that you got ripped off.

hopefully it will work out, next time get a bit more street smart, don't pay before you see.

Yeah, many members here go to peru..so it helps to have this kind of information available before hand.

Thanks for the heads up.
Long live the unwoke.

I did not ask for my money back. You're kidding, right? She knows she stole from someone, won't answer communication attempts....what on earth would be the point?
Yes, I spammed my story on 4 other sites. If I would have read wheat I wrote BEFORE booking with her, I never would have. I would have given 5000 bucks to some other retreat.
Yes, I will go back to Peru.
I don't live in Peru, I wasn't in Peru when I realized I'd been ripped off (she is Australian, by the way) therefore, no local police were contacted.
Yeah, after 55 years, you'd think I could judge character better than I did. Shame on me.

i have just come across this written by a past guest at my home. What an inaacurate and spiteful post. I never ripped you off. Your reactions or should i say over reations are over the top. You had to have a sculpture similiar to the one in my home which was gifted to me. I did everything that was asked. Yes it was slower than you liked but it was done. The artist herself visited me this week to borrow my sculpture for her exhibition. I have no problem with her. I actually went way out of my way for you even giving you so much of my music as well. I did not rob you and i would like for you to remove this please. There are witnesses such as Kelly, Migel, the artist herself and if needed will ask them to respond to this as well.
wow im shocked and saddened that you did this.
regards cielo

Why don't both of you take this stuff off of a public forum especially considering there is no proof of anything from either end.

I'm in here reading other new folks' introductions and I come across this.

I hope this childish nonsense isn't reflected throughout the rest of the nexus. I know it's enough to make me log off for tonight.

Neither of you are respecting this place nor it's point whatsoever.

What are the chances that "cielo" just happened to stumble across a post on the nexus about her. Yeah.... Ok then

What I want to tell EVERYONE that will listen is that I entrusted her with 700 Peruvian soles (use a currency exchanger to get an idea) to pay for services I contracted with a local artist (Cielo has impressive work done by her) and upon the completion of the work, she would see to it that I would receive my painted custom wood carving.

Zoopsie, the lesson to learn here is to never entrust another person with money like this. That person may be skilled in her normal job but slack in other matters. It's a pity you made a choice that may have actually ruined an otherwise pleasant trip. Seems like it was 'this matter not working as you would have liked', that soured things- rather than anything else.

Certainly to others it can seem that you were maybe being a little too personal in some of the things you said in your o/p, lol.

Whatever, i'm glad to hear this story, and that everything has been sorted out. Perhaps now that is the case you can move on. At least you stood up to what you believed in got a result.

It's hard 2 make a proper judgement of Cielo here, but let's just put this one down to a misunderstanding that worked itself out. Obviously if this sort of things crop up again we will know all about it and will draw different conclusions. It's always good to get feedback from these centres, no matter what, because they can in some cases serve a very useful purpose indeed.

Cheers.
