Hello Nexus! Greetings from South Africa!
I started my journey with psychedelics just over a year ago and had my first experience with DMT in February 2014. WOW. That's all I can say. I was completely blown away by the experiences, even though so far my highest dose was around 30mg.
I had about 5 or 6 experiences with the sample I received, mostly on the "only slightly mind-blowing" region of the spectrum, however my last few experiences were a little traumatic. I was not in a very good space psychologically and physically and I had a vague impression of my poor health being revealed to me while on DMT. The first few times it was an extremely pleasant thought to be aware of things that I needed to change in my life. The last experience I had, incidentally with my last bit of DMT, can be summed up as the DMT spirit chastising me in the form of "I'VE GIVEN YOU THESE LESSONS TO APPLY! WHY DO YOU KEEP SCROUNGING AROUND HERE?! PUT SOME EFFORT INTO YOUR LIFE!"
Well, you can imagine that thought was quite...intimidating? I almost want to say heart-breaking? Anyway, that was the last time I took DMT, or any other psychedelics for that matter. That was until a few days ago I tried LSD for the first time with a good friend of mine. We went for a laid-back hike in a beautiful, green, mountainous valley in the Western Cape. During this trip my friend mentioned something about volunteers destroying invasive Black Wattle (Acacia mearnsii) and Rooikrans (Acacia cyclops) and instantly a wealth of information on DMT-containing plants flooded my brain. My next thought was that there are a few Acacia species native to South Africa, do they have DMT???
Since then I have been reading a lot about extraction methods and plant species, and I have plans to explore the potential local sources (native and invasive) for DMT content and report back on my findings. I have noticed a few fellow South Africans floating around, so hopefully this kind of information will be of value to our local community and the rest of the Nexus.
I am a postgraduate student of chemical engineering so hopefully my skill set will help me along with my endeavour
Before this gets too long, let me say that I'm excited to be here, and I look forward to interacting with all you wonderful people! ^_^
