New member here. I'm doing my first cactus extraction STB and I have a question on the Mescaline HCL cleanup.

I think my acid was to strong pH 3-4 and therefore my product isn't too pure.

I've read a few articles on how to do this with most people recommending a couple of very cold anydrous acetone washes followed by 99%IPA washes

this seems simpler with less steps but wondering if it would work well.

Was hoping I could get some help here. I'm hope to clean up my mesc HCL but just need some clarification of this one step.

In Kash's A/B mescaline Extraction he washes the mesc HCL with ice cold anhydrous acetone and then decants the solvent carefully. Does he mean by doing this with a pipette?
Also if I can't manage to decant 100% of the acetone will I then lose some mesc as the residual acetone evaps away from the mesc HCL?

Or will this not happen because the acetone is anyhdrous in the first place. Will putting this in the freezer help?

You'll not lose any mesc that has acetone since that will just evap off.

As for decanting, just pour it off slowly.

If your mescaline is very dirty, washing won't be of much use, re-A/B'ing it will work more thoroughly.
