Hi again!

When I went to the toilet last week when I tripped on shrooms, I saw this pattern on the tiles in the hall and in the kitchen. It was the same pattern I see on them every time I trip. The same happened on the toilet: the stuff the toilet is made from had a pattern again. The pattern on the toilet is a different pattern than the one on the tiles, but it is the same pattern I have seen every other time I went to the toilet while tripping.

These patterns don't look much like hallucinations. It feels as if they are there all the time, but when I'm sober I just can't see well enough. I checked again when I was sober and I checked again just now. The patterns aren't there.

The pattern on the tiles look like the residue of a geometrically cut-out sticker that has been on those tiles for a long time. It looks like the places where the sticker has been are whiter, so maybe less dirty, than the rest of the tile. On every tile it is the same pattern. Now, this is all gone and looking at the tiles now, I assume there were never any stickers on them. They are probably very old (maybe 30 years old) but they don't look like tiles that would have stickers on them when you buy them.

The pattern on the toilet is a bit more intricate. I can't describe it as I cannot remember it very well. Every time I see it I recognise it as the same pattern, but while sober, I can't remember what it looks like. I do remember it is made out of round curves that go parallel to each other.

What interest me is what creates those patterns. This is what I came up with:

1. Those patterns really are intrinsical to the objects/surfaces. I only see them when tripping because I do actually 'see better' when tripping.
2. Somehow my mind has created a pattern it always associates with these objects/surfaces. For each surface it remembers a different pattern, but only when tripping.
3. Based on what the objects/surfaces really look like, and the dirt and filth and dust that's on them, and the light and time of the day I see them, a somehow similar pattern is triggered every time I trip, just because the situation is the same, I take the same substance and I am the same person every time. And because I am tripping I maybe imagine that it is always the same pattern, but it could just be similar.

So basically the pattern is either created by the object, created by my mind, or is not really there but is imagined to be the same by my mind.

I am leaning towards the first because every time I see it, it really feels that way. I am leaning towards the last because it is the most rational one.

I am very interested to hear some thoughts about this. Does anybody else experience something like this? Are there any arguments for or against one of my reasonings?
Your view is much appreciated! Smile

Part of how you can test some of these ideas is that the next time you take shrooms, and you see those patterns on your toilet, try closing your eyes and see if those patterns persist. If they don't, try minimizing or maximizing the light when you close your eyes. If they are behind your closed eyelids (or something similar) it may suggest that you are projecting these patterns onto the physical surfaces you are observing.

Hi, I think I can relate to these phenomena, especially with re-occurring images and types of floaters and patterns.

One in particular I can always see if I focus my sight enough while sober, but naturally occurs while experiencing a 'trip,' is this small round, colorful and spinning ball of light. If I focus on it hard and long enough while tripping, it tends to expand deeper and deeper into further images and it and takes on my whole visual viewing. The first time I encountered this phenomena was under the care of cannabis and psilocybin. It seemed to have drifted within my visual system up until now, so a few years have passed since my first mushroom experience. Sometimes it comes and goes with force but is insignificant to me now. The last time I really saw it was with HBWR and cannabis where it took over the entire room wherever I looked and would creep up within my closed eyelids, I couldn't escape it for about 2 hours, dissipating overtime until the experience was back to baseline.

For some strange reason, it has always brought some cartoon-like humor to my trip, sober or not. I don't know why, but I do enjoy it from time to time. Very happy

Quite possibly in connection with this phenomena.. however, it does seem to have a trigger with various objects within my environment that take shape to it.. whatever it may be.

Here is some basic info on the "Math of Hallucinations".
I'm not sure if this is theory or fact, but it might help shed some light on what your asking about.
For the lower level type of hallucinations like patterns and basic visual phenomena, it seems like it could be an interaction between parts of the brain and visual cortex etc. Like its hard wired with a set of patterns.
I also get very consistent pattern type of hallucinations on low doses, and have asked myself the same questions. And that lead me to do some research on the subject.
There is a bunch of info on the internet about this type of stuff, some very scientific and mathematical. And other more basic explanations.

As for the higher level type of hallucinations, Ive yet to see an explanation that holds much weight.
