I wanted to post this in FAQ, but cannot start a new topic there?

Anyway, I often see people confidently posting with the opinion that you don't actually need to convert freebase dmt to its salt form to be active orally or nasally--is that true? As I researched it, the dmt needs to be in salt form to pass into the blood of your nasal membrane or stomach.

It's hard arguing with other people's experiences; how could they have had any effect from eating or snorting freebase? Then they go recommending others to snort freebase and I can just see the chain of wastefulness. I feel it's my responsibility to correct them but could anyone more knowledgeable explain again why we convert to salt form for those administrations?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

No experience snorting here so can't comment about that.

Orally, DMT freebase is most definitely active. The issue is that its harsher on the stomach ime. You'd have to put it in capsules or something, dont let it touch your tongue or mouth or it hurts.

The reasoning many people give for converting into salt form is that in theory it would be more easily absorbed since you wouldnt have to 'wait' for the stomach to convert it to a salt form when it gets in contact with stomach acid. IME that isn't really the case, freebase DMT is very effective orally, but harsher, so yeah I preffer converting it to a salt form.

Also when you dissolve freebase in an acidic juice (which is ok to drink, doesnt hurt the mouth), it turns into a salt form, so from a practical standpoint it makes sense if you dont have capsules. Or in other cases, people have previously converted it to fumarate for long term storage, so then you already have a salt form, which is easy to consume.

Hmm, alright, thanks for the clarification!

In my couple attempts of mixing freebase in acidic juice, it never fully dissolves lol. I'd crush it and agitate it like crazy, wait 30 minutes, then drink and see a delta of insoluble crystals in the empty glass. But good to know it has the potential.

I have experience with nasal freebase. It works. It burns, but it works
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

Thats a major umderstatement imo.
The couple times i snorted freebase it felt like i had hot glass shards & fire ants attacking my nasal cavity behind my skull.
Converting to salt & dissolving in the smallest amount of water dropwise before snorting didn't seem to help the burn either.
It's extremely wasteful as well. 100mg is not breakthrough territory.

What? You don't like glass and ants? Razz

I recently made a DMT/Harmala/Turmeric snuff that seemed to be better on the nose and require less molecule. The recipe was posted on the nexus by another member.

That sounds nice. i had a thread a while back discussing reducing burn with insufflated spice. There was a thread talking about mixing with coconut cream & vinegar or something that was supposed to iliminate the burn completely.

I have tried insufflation of both DMT freebase and DMT fumarate, and I am with concombres on this one.

DMT freebase was incredibly painful and did not have much effect, though it was a very small dose so I wasn't really expecting much effect. I can't even imagine how unpleasant insufflation of a full dose must be. Confused

DMT fumarate was just slightly less painful, but still not exactly pleasant. Desired effects were achieved, but a much higher dose was used.

Define an acidic juice. Would apple cider vinegar work? And how would that or an acidic juice fare digestively when your digestive system is shutting down (and more sensitive) due to taking a RIMA such as Syrian Rue?
