Hey Everyone !

Completed my first extraction a couple of days ago. I used Marsofolds tek; I'm not sure why I picked it in hindsight.

I used 500 g MHRB and pretty much followed the tek to a tee apart from using 50 mL pipette for pulling the solvent which worked really well.

I ended up with ~ 2.60 g of off-white crystals, not a great yield but as it was my first extraction I just wanted a product that could be smoked, so I'm happy. I didn't bother with recrystallization.

For my next extraction I plan to use Cyb's tek, maybe the max ion version. The yields seem much better and I get the general feeling that older teks such as Marsofolds are maybe outdated now.

The only thing I wasn't sure of was the powdering of the bark, I blended it thoroughly in quick bursts but I mostly ended up with fiber and a little powder, I get the feeling that I maybe should have been getting more powder than I did. Maybe I'll use a coffee grinder next time, see how that goes.

Nice looking white crystals you have there , although the yield seems low there maybe abit in the soup still do some more pulls you might be surprise

Wow i really hope you still have the black sludge in a jar.
500g should yeild you anywhere from 5-10g if the bark is of decent quality.

Try using a heat bath & pulling a couple more times.

Ahhh...To be honest, as Marsofolds tek states that the yield should be around 2.5 g, I guess I thought that was all I was getting and threw it away...

I'm not too worried though, I'm going to extract again in the coming weeks when I've finished my exams. Cybs tek seems like the way to go; a smaller and less messy extraction with a better yield sounds great right now !

I'll be in contact if I need any help regarding Cybs tek, and I definitely won't be throwing any sludge away again...

I used a heat bath the fist time, basically just a crock pot but the jug I used was so large it was really inconvenient to work with.

Which is why next time I would like to just double up on Cybs tek and use two bottles, much easier to handle !

I use a crock pot too. I can see where a larger jug might be a problem.
If your sludge/liquid is left you can still pull more.
Either way you have some nice looking spice there & 2.6g should last you quite a while. At the very least let you test the waters so next time you have a feel for how to smoke & what the effects are.

I did 2 side by side extractions using cybs tek last time i extracted & it went very well.
I Ended up with 1.75g after 3 re-xs & a mini a/b.

Yeah I have smoked spice a couple of times before, but it didn't come close to the effects I got off this batch...

And I agree 2.6 g should last me a long time. So, in the mean while, I can crack on with Cybs tek. What is your product like before re-X from cybs tek ? The pictures I have seen so far look kind of browny orange from Cybs tek but the yields look fantastic so even with re-Xing I should get a greater yield than this time.
