Is it just me or does Caapi Harmala pale in comparison to Rue Harmala?
My first ever Changa was 10 x Caapi leaf and it was new to me and interesting.
Then I learnt to extract Rue Harmalas and never looked back.
Two years on and recently I made some 20 x Caapi vine (Red) Changa and it just seems extremely weak to me. This weekend I'm gonna do some serious bonging with it and see what happens . So far I've had a few joints and I'm not impressed.
Thinking about it, I'm not sure why the vine is so revered (maybe its an Aya thing?). I mean its the Chaliponga / Chacruna that holds the real magic.
Am I wrong or am I wrong? Smile
Please add your 2 cents worth.
Thumbs up

How did you extract the rue harmalas, did you measure the alkaloid amounts in both caapi and rue ?

If you are using some commercial harmalas or just doing soaks, you dont really know the potency so it's hard to compare.

My bet is one couldnt tell them appart if dosages were adjusted.

That being said, there are also personal preferences.... If you prefer one or another plant, go for it. Smile

That makes sense.
The Rue is extracted via the TAO of Rue method but the Caapi is just soaked in IPA for a month. So maybe the IPA soak is a poor method of extraction.
I don't measure Alkaloids. How would I do that?

IPA is a very poor solvent for harmalas, even more so in salt form as they are naturally. Either use ethanol or water.

To properly compare them, you have to extract both in the same way, weigh the alkaloids using a scale and then make the comparison.

mg for mg a rue extract is stronger, which is what the OP seems to basically be asking. Yes, rue is stronger as a whole herb, and so is it's whole extract.
Long live the unwoke.

Could I do the TAO of rue but with Caapi Vine instead of rue seeds???
Thx by the way

I thought it was stronger and using something from ancient Beth Nahrain holds more meaning for me personally .
