Hi,

I am thinking/planning to try to do the meditating and all that stuff, but I would like to do that stuff without going over the top. As in, I don't want to get into DMT, meditation, etc with ego, example: https://www.youtube.com/...ertifiedhealthnut/videos

- I would like to fully loose my ego, or whatever it is that's came into my head in the last couple of years. (like there's another annoying voice in my head thinking/judging such stupid stuff. and I'm here will you just stop brain/me. whatever it is, don't know. but like?.

sorry if it sounds silly I'm trying to learn.
may you please give any input?.

thank you.

morning FluffyClouds,

i think developing a personal practice in conjunction with use of the Magic is a good idea, things like meditation and yoga can go very well with psychedelic work.
since i began working with the Magic i have meditated semi regularly and it can certainly help in calming the mind pre-dissolve. i found that it took a while to see the cross over between the 2, but once it began to happen it is quite obvious that they go well together.

at the start of the month, after 3 years of sitting, i had my first bizzare/psychedelic meditation experience, this has really intrigued me and i am about to embark on a much more involved practice for the next year to see if making a bigger commitment to meditation and yoga will effect my existence in a more profound way.

if you want to start with something simple then i would suggest a mindfulness mediatation practice, sit for 20 minutes and concentrate on your breath as you observe all the madness of the monkey mind unfold, uncontrollably, before you. If you wanted some yoga chucked in you could do some simple sun salutations for 10 minutes before your meditation.

after a while of doing this you will be in a better place to decide if continuing or increasing your practice will benefit you, if it does then you can proceed as you see fit.

One thing that put me off meditation and yoga to begin with was that they seemed to have been stolen by hippy dippy woo peddlers talking nonsence, dont be put of by this, these practices have been around alot longer than all the newage nightmares and they can have a massive positive impact on your life and health, do a search for medical benefits of meditation.

if you do proceed then let u know if it has any impact on your life.

now go find a cushion and get sittingThumbs up

it's all in your mind, but what's your mind???

What sort of breathing exercises do you practice?

I've started a few different ones and notice an immediate difference in all aspects of my being, especially if I'm able to practice consistently. Always open and curious to learn from the experiences of others.

I would recommend short meditation intervals in the beginning. When you start with too much the agitated mind becomes a hindrance. For me it helped a lot to start with 5 minutes daily and increase the duration every week. By doing it in this way sitting becomes something you want to come back to.

Being mindful in everyday life also helps a lot. Just notice everything that is going on externally and internally. Being the observer of your thoughts, emotions and all the sense input without reacting to it with craving or aversion.

Pranayama is also very beneficial for your well-being and health in general.
This is some good stuff to start with (there are many instructions online):

Yogic Breathing
Ujjayi Breath + Khechari Mudra
Breath retention (4s in, 4s retention, 8s out)
Nadi Shodhana
Kapalbhati
Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem
