Just a note: I am aware that this will offend forum members who see DMT as a purely spiritual and enlightenment drug that should be solely used for that purpose, but I do not mean to offend. I just wish to highlight another side of DMT that most are likely unfamiliar with. I have great respect for DMT as a source of enlightenment and I owe it my thanks from saving me from drug addiction and self destruction.I understand DMT is a tool of self discovery and improvement, but sometimes you just need to have fun and escape from everyday reality. DMT while intoxicated is exactly this, and perhaps one of the best experiences you can chemically create without physical addiction, withdrawal, needles or destroying your body and brain (beside the alcohol of course). When smokkng DMT while very drunk, there is no hyperspace, no insight, no beings or any of the things that make DMT substantial or life changing. But there is also no fear, stress, judgement or need for deep contemplation afterwards. No matter how depressing or unlikeable your life is at the moment (it happens to all of us sometimes) it is still amazing. There is just the rush, the amazing colors and fractals, the extreme euphoria and the amazing afterglow. It is pure candy for your brain for a couple minutes and then its over. It's windblowing in the greatest sense of the word. Obviously getting highly intoxicated on alcohol is harmful especially if done frequently, and abusing DMT often in this fasion often will leave only bad results, so be mindful and THINK about it before getting drunk. The urge to do this might want you to think of the reasons why you are doing it, but we all want to escape reality sometime and a lot of alcohol + DMT is (almost, there is no such thing as certainty) guaranteed success. Be aware this behaviour is shallow and won't solve any of your problems, but it is a lot less harmful and traumatic than other drugs/methods which might be at your disposal. Peace and respect, nobody is perfect.

I can't truly argue for or against this practice, I don't get drunk particularly often and I've never experienced DMT, but I suppose I have a few words on the subject. Escapism is a real part of our lives, it's often the reason that dangerous drug habits and alcoholism begin their cycles. A person seeks respite from the world around them, and when something like heroin or alcohol is capable providing it a person can be led to believe that it's a solution because while under the effects, the problems go away. I'd say that an act like this should be very, very seldom, and only done under the guidelines that surround normal DMT or alcohol use. Be in a good headspace, life should be good and content and generally free of stressors at the moment. The moment an act like this is done to escape a problem, it becomes a snowball that can easily get out of control, because what you're doing is basically falling into a psychedelic wonderland with no guide or good sense and using it to make everything go away for a few minutes. Another point that could be made is that everyone here that has been very drunk has had those moments of complete and total helplessness and darkness, where you literally think the world is falling apart and you're caught in the middle of it, now throw in the unimaginable effects of DMT and you have a recipe for psychological disaster if you fall into a loop. On a more positive note, maybe don't discount an act like this as entirely non-spiritual. People for thousands of years have used alcohol as not only an escape but as a means to spiritual unlocking. Great authors like Stephen King, Hunter S. Thompson, Edgar Allen Poe were alcoholics and they created some of the most well known literary works of the modern era, only a fool would say that alcohol has no creative spirit (get it? yuk yuk.). Hell even Socrates, Plato and Aristotle enjoyed wine and they pretty much defined the entire practice of logical analysis of the universe for thousands of years. Futhermore, there's a certain enlightenment to shutting your ego down and succumbing to the wandering, uninhibited whims of your mind chugging at full speed. If and when you do this next, make it equally spiritualistic and intentional as ayahuasca or DMT. Go into the experience with the same attitude and use the time before and after to get something from it as opposed to surrendering to it. And then give us a trip report ![Twisted Evil](/forum/images/emoticons/devil.png) !

Interesting that you say the effect of combining these two there is no hyperspace or insight. I have a friend who has done at least half his trips while under the influence of alcohol, some of them while extremely trashed, and he has described some very insightful trips. Hes a drinker so when he doses he just happens to be drunk but not always. I pretty much made a rule that i wont dose others while drinking, but there are certain exceptions to that rule. Dabstronaut, you might be interested in my most recent experience report https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=61899Unless im smoking giggle sticks i wont dose while im drinking... Almost always. I'm not going to lecture here, I don't think I'll change your mind and I'm assuming we're both adults. Do however, read through people's trip reports about combining the two and understand that there could be very real psychological damaged caused by this behavior.
I agree with the above poster, define your intent before plunging blindly into the unknown.

I am by no means a "DMT is only a spiritual tool" person, infact i love the recreational side of Magic, but i have read many more reports about booze+Magic going very wrong then going well. there is certainly a few opinions stated as fact in the OP. this... luckily you have received a wonderful experience. my only concern is the way you have worded it. just a warning would be suffice as I am sure the many knowledgeable users here will agree that i don't think anything can give you a guaranteed positive experience. to readers of the forum who are "guest" they may take bad advice from this. personally i couldn't imagine anything worse than being intoxicated and experiencing a bad trip. especially for an inexperienced user. peace to you my friend just take care when advising others, share your experiences but I wouldn't make the mistake of advising others a set rule to do DMT intoxicated or not. I think everyone should find it for themselves.

I don't mean to be a downer but I think it's actually a risky thing . There are numerous reports of people having horribly bad trips when smoking DMT while under the influence of alcohol . I would think there's a potential judgement issue with dose measurement etc. but to each his own. I'm sure for some it's no problem. smoking DMT after drinking alcohol is something I tried once some years ago. It was one of the most useless and incoherent DMT experience I have had. Wasn't even really euphoric. Id rather just smoke cannabis. Long live the unwoke.

For some it might not be so bad, especially in lower doses, but as felnik said, there has literally been loads of bad experience reports about this combination here. If someone needs a kind of psychic blanket due to the circumstances in their life, I would suggest a bit of MDMA or mescaline before smoking DMT over alcohol any day (just don't mix MDMA with changa/maoi, obviously). I don't really differentiate between me using psychedelics for fun or learning/expanding/healing/whatever. It's all intertwined. Often the most insightful and healing experiences are also the most fun and enjoyable for me.

In addition to the risk of a psychologically difficult trip, I'd be worried about the lowering of inhibitions and rational thought while you're in a state that is, technically, very akin to acute psychosis. I foresee a huge risk of someone having a bad trip, being unable to process that it's just a drug and over-reacting in a violent or uncontrolled way. Combine that with the lack of coordination, ataxia and complex hallucinations, it's not to absurd to think someone might get very, very hurt. I echoe the above sentiments of ND and think ingesting while highly intoxicated is not a good idea but each to their own. However one of my biggest breakthroughs was after having been in the pub all night, I had probably drunk 5-7 pints of 3.5% lager (but no spirits). Funnily enough it was almost seven years ago today! https://www.dmt-nexus.me...amp;m=7440&#post7440 The idea of it throughout the evening energised me and then when I got home I was filled with dutch courage and loaded an unknown quantity and was completely gone in a few seconds with no fear or anxiety. Afterwards I could remember very little of it other than the fact that it was a particularly intense yet fearless experience. Over the years more memories of it came back to me. Bear in mind this was after beer only and I wasnt extremely drunk and was still in control. I dont recommend it if the environment isnt a safe one and you are too intoxicated, I also maintain control of myself even when very very drunk and have a decent stamina for beer. My flat was very secure, quiet and peaceful at the time and I was sat on the floor on cushions with nothing to injure myself on nearby. I dont think I would repeat it after having drunk so much as I have much greater respect for these plants and alkaloids now and altough it was a great experience I feel it lacked depth and personal insights.

I now avoid the combo completely. Years ago, near the beginning of my adventures, I went to stay with a friend, it was quite a long drive. On arrival, he fixed me a vodka & tonic as was his custom, and I ate some chips with hummus. It was already sunset so he was eager for his first experience with spice, which I had brought along. We were out in his backyard, looking at the stars coming out, and he went first. Once he was fully back down to baseline, and very very happy, he went off to call some more friends and get ready for a long evening...! I stayed in the yard and took my turn. I woke up about 10-15 minutes later (having clearly blacked out). I was lying on my back, with vomit in my mouth and down the front of my shirt, which freaked me the fuck out, as the consequences could easily have been final. I never vomit, unless purgatives are involved and can hold my liquor with the best of them, so that really shook me up and I considered it a stern lesson, now engraved on my heart. “I sometimes marvel at how far I’ve come - blissful, even, in the knowledge that I am slowly becoming a well-evolved human being - only to have the illusion shattered by an episode of bad behaviour that contradicts the new and reinforces the old. At these junctures of self-reflection, I ask the question: “are all my years of hard work unraveling before my eyes, or am I just having an episode?” For the sake of personal growth and the pursuit of equanimity, I choose the latter and accept that, on this journey of evolution, I may not encounter just one bad day, but a group of many.” ― B.G. Bowers

I do recall having a few tokes after a couple of long drinks in my inexperienced past. Luckily the alcohol content in my blood was not that high but the bond between the 2 substances after vaping clearly made me feel the lack of synergy and the opposite effects of the two.
The spice did override the alcohol but the symptoms were at least crazy. Soon after I started vaping there were trembles coming from my abdominal area, not painful or discomforting in any way, just weird and intense. I knew then it was a bad choice and never repeated it again.

Interresting report. Allthough I think smoalking DMT while being really drunk is a waste of DMT, the lack of fear and stress you mention is interresting. I find that there is a huge amount of fear burried deep inside of me and when I smoalk DMT it comes out. I'v built this up over the last 3 years.
Perhaps a glass of wine and a spliff before DMT-lift off is helpfull in somewhat reducing the fear and stress and allow for a more gentle, less threatening exploration.
