Several years ago (probably back in 2002-2003) I became aware of an artist called Patrick Farley. He published his work - mostly web comics - on www.e-sheep.com, among them a quite psychedelic piece called "Delta Thrives - Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun".

Unfortunately, this piece of art had long ago disappeared from the web. Some days ago I heard about a wonderful service called "The Internet Wayback Machine" which attempts to archive the past history of the entire Internet (nearly 1.5 billion pages). I was skeptical first, but I made a search and voila: I found it!

With some Perl hacking, I managed to collect nearly all the pieces of the page (it was not too easy as different parts of the site were stored at different time-points in the archive). The only drawback is that three of the background images are missing (these were referenced from <td background="..."> attributes, probably that's why the wayback machine couldn't collect them).

If any of you happened to have these, let me know:

- bg_lightbeam.gif
- fossil_bg.jpg
- static.gif

My restored version can be experienced here:

I hope you will enjoy it.

I've been a fan of e-sheep since, I think, the end of the 1990s. Today, I thought to look the site up again after years and was thrilled to find some new material. Check out The First Word. Smile
