Having some issues with my current Rue extraction, I did one a couples years ago that went
Pretty smoothly.

Using this Tek
With Sodium Carbonate as base.

I boiled, filtered, based. Collected the FB alkaloids.

Now I'm having issues with the FB redissolving into the vinegar/water solution.

I tried adding more vingar and stirring it over heat for some time, still floating around in there.

I tried filtering, and the Alks are still getting caught in the filter.

Is it possible that what's getting caught in the filter is excess sodium carbonate?
And I should just filter and continue Mankse with the liquid?

I've added a lot more vinegar already, should I add more?

Not sure what to do from here, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

That's pretty strange. There are several insoluble carbonate salts, but I don't think I've seen them reported from adding sodium carbonate to rue tea. At any rate, if it isn't dissolving in acidic water, it's not your harmalas. So, I'd just make sure the ph is below 6 or so, filter out the solids, and rebase or manske or continue however you had planned. It's always a good idea to keep everything around until you are sure you have a reasonable yield.

I'd also be a little concerned that you didn't base the initial tea enough and mistook this insoluble precip as your harmalas.

Thanks Ouro, think I figured it out.

When I was adding more vinegar to the solution trying to get it to disolve it was fizzing.
I added more until it stopped fizzing, guess it hadent neutralized whatever base was still in the solution.

Then they started to disolve. Problem solved.

Onto the rest of the process. Thumbs up
