I had an accident yesterday. I was making some qwiso and my jar slipped out of my hands and it broke. Now i didn't lose everything. The jar fell into the bowl filled with cold salty water.

When i strained the mixture of salty water and alchohol i ended up with with a brownish-yellowish mixture. It's evapping as i write this.

But my hopes arn't high for the final product after the evap.

So i started asking myself, is there something that doesn't dissolve thc but does dissolve salt i could wash the hash with? The answer seems to be plain water.

Could i get a slight hint of input from anyone that might have a guess if washing hash with water will remove the salt in it?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Oh dang Sad

I would say plain cool water. Not so cold that it'll hurt your hands, but cold enough that it would keep the hash hard, you know?

Yeah I'd say chop it into 'worms'. Put it in a fridge or freezer beforehand to make the cutting easier. Pop in in a coffee filter in a bowland run some water over it. So you'll have a coffee filter within a bowl full of water. I say this just to minimize chances of losing anything.

Now I said cold water becasuse you should cut it into 'worms' rather than an assortment of chunks, you know?

Because you've got worms, you can put your fingers in there, while it's submerged, and roll the worms back and forth so they get thinner, then fold them back into a ball and roll out again. The heat from your fingers should be enough to make it malleable, while the water will keep it cold enough that it doesn't stick to your fingers very much, if at all. Razors can fix that anyway.

Do that once, roll it all back together and then repeat with more clean water a second time. That should leave you with pretty clean stuff. It's a lot of work but you were right on your first guess, that water would be the way to go.

Maybe try distilled just to be sure?

Whats qwiso ?

If you are useing alcohol its not hash its oil .

The salt is soluble in water ........ but ....... whats the problem ? The salt isnt going to mess it up . If people knew what was in the product that they buy called hash most of them wouldnt buy it .

The things that one can throw into it to cut it cost a lot less than hash . In holland a lot of " hash " is imported as powder and then cut with dry cuts and after that with wet and fatty cuts to make it look more resinous / better to unexperienced people .

If you want to be sure just evaporate the liquids off and disolve the residue in a petrol oil solvent and then filter and evaporate . The salt wont go over as its a ...... salt = not soluble in oil based solvents ?
I am autism spectum ........ please dont burn me at the stake for being honest .

I don't have one either. But I know that the coffeshops need to supply them selfes from the black market. So it's hardly probable that this doesn't happen.

Sounds like a very large leap from 'it may happen' to "a lot of the hash is...".

I researched a lot into this and have been testing hash samples myself, and there are a lot of rumors but little data or facts regarding adulteration. The only publication I've found where there was actual analysis that showed adulteration was in Italy where a couple of Charas samples (amongst many other unadulterated samples) had some vegetable resin. There is another old paper that I can't get the full file but abstract says at most 2-3% of hash in west germany was found to be adulterated or contaminated.

Rather, it seems the most common adulteration, or rather, impurity, in hash, is simply plant matter and dust. When third grade or lower grade dry sieved hash is made, particularly in Morroco, they press it together with heat since the terpenes/oily cannabinoids are in low amounts so the resin doesnt stick togehter. This creates darker and harder non-malleable blocks of hash which can be easily distinguished by someone with more experience. I've yet to see any real data on widespread hash adulteration with oils/shoe glue/eggs/whatever random rumor people like to spread.

Oh man...it's a pitty that I wasn't here five or eight years ago, with knowledge on how to properly test hash for adulteration. Since that time I mostly smoke my own hash.

Back then we sometimes had hash that, when lit on fire, smelled like burning plastic and was producing massive ammounts of black soot. So I don't have any sources than my own experience.

Personally I wouldn't say "a lot of the hash is...". But I wouldn't say "it may happen" either. I would say, as far as my experience goes, it happenes. How often...? I don't know.
