Hi, I have found many discussions along the lines of "LSD vs DMT" and I have read many of them. I still have a particular concern. I have had a good deal of experience with DMT in various forms but for certain medical reasons, I don't plan on taking it for a while. I have little to no experience with LSD but I am interested in taking a relatively small dose (1-2 tabs) while using no other substance, by myself, in a cabin in the woods with some writing materials, music, etc. I really appreciate DMT and although I have had some very difficult experiences with it, one of the things that I really like about it is the afterglow. You kind of "pay up front" with the experience and after it is over, you feel incredible as many people here know. I would almost say that I am still feeling the afterglow from my first ayahuasca experience years ago, it caused such a positive shift in my life. Other substances I have tried, like mushrooms and san pedro, had a very positive effect but I felt burnt out the next day and sometimes for a couple of days after.

My concern is that taking acid will somehow undo the positive changes made by DMT. With ayahusaca particularly, I almost feel like I have made it through a war and come out on the other side, better than before. I feel more complete, whole, connected, etc after having used dmt many times in many forms. In a sense, I don't want to press my luck with another substance. Is this a ridiculous concern regarding LSD? Am I buying into the fearmongering about LSD that is so common in this society?

Thanks.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

LSD seems more similar to DMT to me personally than other psychedelics. Not always all fun and games, but I can't help but learn something about myself and the world with every experience.

One big difference is that LSD is kind of the reverse of DMT in the sense of it being potentially uncomfortable up front and then an afterglow afterwards. This never happens to me but I have heard many people report the glow up front and then a while of discomfort for the come down.

I would definitely try it at least. Each psychedelic substance offers a different and unique view.

Over the course of a few hundred LSD experiences I've only had a couple rough ones, at high doses, under the wrong circumstances. 1-2 tabs is unlikely to bring you to a place of high anxiety, especially since you are already familiar to some degree with the effects of psychedelics. Bring some of your favorite mellow music in case you need grounding, along with having some fresh fruit and water readily available, all the comfort stuff. It can also help if you have a friend on speed-dial who knows what you are up to, in case you feel a need to talk things through. This is an option you're unlikely to actually use, but knowing it's there can be grounding/comforting.

However... What's this talk of a medical condition? If it's enough to contraindicate DMT use it might also give you reason to steer clear of other things as well.

Thanks for the response, as far as the medical situation, I am being treated using helminthic therapy for a gastrointestinal/autoimmune condition. I have heard that the beta carbolines that are involved with oral DMT are anti-helminthic and I don't want to risk eliminating the organisms from my system. I have use moclobemide and found it to be more unpleasant and less useful than my experiences with dmt+harmine or traditional ayahuasca. I have also found that vaporizing DMT causes respiratory distress to the point that it leads to a negative experience, it almost feels like I have developed an "allergy" to it so I have avoided it for some time. I have used very pure white crystal dmt through a clean GVG without burning the material and I still have a negative physical reaction.

Anyway, that is my reasoning for being interested in LSD, at least for now. If I could be sure that harmine/harmaline are not anti-helminthic, then I would be happy to use them with DMT maybe a couple of times a year.

Also, another general question, I have had some very extreme DMT experiences, even by DMT standards, completely earth shattering ayahuasca experiences in the amazon where I went beyond death and where it seemed impossible that time and space could ever re-coalesce into something stable and where I did not think it would be possible to ever live a normal life. Of course my life is better than it ever was but how does that compare to people's experiences on LSD?

Thanks.

A state like that could potentially be reached at the 800ug+ level, absolutely. But the two are much different in character... Two cometely different types of "earth shattering".
