SWIM read that you can use any m. hostilis tek for a. confusa but it needs to be defatted first. What is the best and easiest method?

Best method would be to wash the acidic mix with a solvent that pulls a very wide range of organic matter. Like Chloroform or DCM. You want to avoid acetone. Reason: It removes alot more crud.

Easiest method would be to wash the acidic mixture with naptha. Reason: Naptha is easy to come by for many people. It's wide availability makes it reasonably easy to perform a defat with.

Avoid solvents that can dissolve polar compounds (like acid salts) and are miscible with water. This is why you'd avoid using acetone, Dimethyl Sulfoxide is also miscible with water and can dissolve your polar compounds (your dmt acid salt).

My vote would be to simply stick with naptha.

You don't need to defat. I never have and I always get crystals using a/b teks. Thick-lights tek has proven effective to me. I have heard really good things about cyb's hybrid salt tek too.

Hi mates, i have done my first Acacia confusa extraction using Thick-Light's Tek and i think there's a bit of fats with the crystals. I've read a lot about that, some think its better defat, some dont. Have you tried to smoke without defatting? Should i re-x or defat before taking it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Thumbs up
