I came across a simple and effective way of making potent cannabis capsules, and thought that this community would like to hear about it.
All you need for this procedure, is your starting material (buds, trim, hash), a couple of pyrex jars, a thermometer to measure the heat of the oil, a jar of coconut oil, a syringe, and pill capsules.
The procedure is as follows,
1. Grind up your starting material. It does not need to be a powder, but if using a powderized material you can later leave the powdered material in the oil to maximize effectiveness.
2. Place the starting material into one of the pyrex jars, and note where the top of the cannabis pile is in the jar.
3. Boil some water, and place your coconut oil into the other pyrex jar. Place this into the boiling water, which will cause your oil to melt. Keep adding more coconut oil until the melted oil is slightly above where the cannabis would be.
4. Once you have a good amount of the melted oil, dump the cannabis or other starting material into the oil jar.
5. Keep mixing this solution every twenty minutes or so, and monitor it to make sure it does not burn. The nice thing about coconut oil is that it starts to burn at the temps that THC start to break down. So as long as the oil isnt burning, your product should not be degrading. I usually keep the water at a steady boil for the time that the oil jar is sitting in it.
6. After a few hours, or even a day of cooking if you really want to get everything you can, you then filter out the material with whatever means you have to do so. I use a metal strainer that has pretty small holes in it, so as long as I dont powderize my material it will catch all of it.
7. Once you have separated your oil from your plant material, you can then let it cool a little bit before using the syringe to fill up your pill capsules. If you used powdered material, you should be able to suck it up into the syringe with the oil and add it to the capsules as well.
I have only made these with low grade cannabis, and find that half a gram worth of low grade buds gives a decent high. It is more relaxed then smoking, and doesnt give as much mental effects but more so a relaxing body high that feels amazing. It is not like being couch locked either, because its still possible to get up and do strenuous activity.
I also remember reading somewhere that when using coconut oil to make the capsules, it actually potentiates the thc. Something about how the coconut oil gets metabolized by the liver, which creates a more potent form of THC before it is absorbed into the blood stream. I dont know how accurate this is, but it does seem to be more effective then using traditional butter and cooking it into foods.
I would love to hear others thoughts on this process and especially anyones thoughts on the note of the liver possibly metabolizing THC into a more potent form.
Everything published by Gone-and-Back are the mad rantings and ravings of a mind who yearns to be free and thinks he knows what he is talking about. However, these are just delusions made to feel that freedom, because that freedom will never come. Any experiments done are purely figments of the imagination, and are falsified to the highest degree. Nothing should be taken seriously from a crazy mans mind.
