Hello Nexus, my friend has a wild morning glory seed extract, and isn't sure if it worked.

Crushed seeds were defatted with naphtha at least five times until it came back clear,
it was dried completely, and everclear was added.. The alcohol turned a cloudy green.

Now, it looks like it would glow under blacklight, but i see no glow in the extract at all.
So, is it safe to guess there is nothing of interest in the extract, or what do y'all think?

I'll probably just use it as a cleaner or something, because iam not sure i want to drink.

What's the concentration of the extract (MG g/l)? How did Your friend dried the seeds? Maybe he used heat? If it was defatted 5 times I think nothing bad can happen if You ingest some. Does the tincture still have naphta smell?

Recently my friend also did such extraction but he used lamp naphta and had huge problems with getting rid of its smell, he washed the seeds with butane but they still had the odour Neutral . Then he did a tincture anyway. 30 g per 25 ml of everclear. He tried it with 4 ml but he's not sure about its effects. Maybe next week he'll try some more. It also doesn't glow under UV...

LampNaptha sounds sketchy, did you do a drip dry test to see if it will dry clean?

Friend was cautious about evaporating ALL the solvent before adding the everclear.
They were spread onto a tray and had a fan blowing on them. Warm air, but no heat,
it only took about three days and they were powder dry and smelled like old seeds.
Friend used ~half pint of everclear, to say ~2,500 seeds (guessing i didn't count)

Looks kindof like highlighter water, it's not cloud anymore unless it gets shaken.
i bet the seeds were just no good, so use leftover alcohol to clean, or lamp fuel.

drip dry test was done but the shit wouldn't evaporate even after a week Laughing so eventually it was abandoned. That's why after defatting the seeds were washed with butane in a tube to eliminate any nonpolar residue from lamp naphta. They were powder dry after that but still little smelly.

One thing enchained my attention. When my friends extract is diluted with water the solution turns milky/cloudy. I wonder if Your friend noticed same thing? What can cause it? Does it indicate anything?

Wut?Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
YES well iam still learning chemistry, so i don't know what the clouds are,
but tested mine by dripping some water in the clear yellow alcohol extract,
there is definitely something that clouded up the drops, precipitate maybe?
At first reading your post i thought it might be the alcohol and water mix,
i tested mine, and see what you mean, it looks like something crashing.
