Recently, I performed
EarthWalkers Tek on roughly 100g of ACRB. I am currently freeze-precipitating my pulls (super exciting!)
Anyway, I was skeptical of one of EW's measurements; namely this one:
Quote:โ Step 1 / B
Ok if you have done step 1 / A there is no need to add the 500 ml of water mentioned in this step , so go straight to adding the acid !!
If you don't wish to do the freeze thaw start from here .....
Measure out 100g of powdered ACRB , place this in a 2 litre bottle ( preferably ) with a thin neck then add 500ml water then add you're preferred acid to the mix until you have a ph of 2-3 do this with ( white vinegar , hydrochloric acid , citric acid ) " I prefer hydrochloric acid " a cap full usually gets a ph 2.6 ! With vinegar add approx 50-60ml and allow this to sit in heat bath for 1- 1/2
hours gently mixing occasionally !!
I find it hard to believe that 50ml of vinegar would bring the ph of 500ml of water down to 2-3. Does he mean pure vinegar (is that a thing?), or does white vinegar just refer to the regular "diluted to 5%" vinegar. Are these measurements accurate, and could somebody show me the math? Thanks in advance!
PS: I roughly doubled the amount of vinegar during my extraction, which probably wasn't a good idea...
