hi everyone im haven. i have been very curious about this drug for quite some time now and decided to make an account on this forum to get some more information so i can decide if it is for me. ive been telling everyone i need a drug that will change my views on life and more than a few people have told me dmt can do that. im just nervous because ive never done a drug other than weed & i have no interest in acid. everyone suggests doing acid before dmt. if you could comment your opinions & advice that would be great. have a good day (:

First i want to say, if that is an actual picture of you i suggest you change it Pronto. It will be in your best interest to stay as anonymous as possible.

So what exactly is it that you wish to get out of dmt? Is there a specific reason you are adverse to trying lsd? Imo dmt is just fine as a first time psychedelic you just want to make sure you take your time abd exercise patience.

i want someone to open my eyes more to the world and myself, and to experience things I've never experienced. the reason why I don't want to do acid is because of how long the trip is I don't think I would enjoy it. I'm just nervous about trying dmt first because people have said I won't be able to handle it

All the psychedelics can influence changes in how you view life, and much else besides, but dealing with those new perspectives and integrating them into your life isn't always easy. Just look into different psychedelics and see if you're interested in any. There is nothing wrong with trying DMT first, but obviously any experience under your belt beforehand can be helpful in dealing with it.

If LSD seem unappealing because of it's length, then why not look into growing mushrooms? They're a lot like DMT but shorter than LSD in length (personally I love all 3). The longer experiences such as lsd, mushrooms, aya/pharma, cacti, etc tend to be more grounded and oriented towards useful introspection than a DMT breakthrough in some ways. Not that vaped DMT isn't introspective, but those drawn out trips are perhaps more useful in that regard, especially at first when you're just warming up to these new states of consciousness.

Hello and welcome.. I'd also suggest to take down any personal identity.

It is only you that can open the veil to yourself and the universe at large. You've certainly have found the right place to do so, especially in terms of inspiration. However, DMT ain't for everyone, so that is understandable. There are infinite ways to explore this life we all have to share together.

Dig as much as you can out of this very beneficial forum and be who and what you truly are. Be that light.

Enjoy!

I agree with the earlier post regarding mushrooms. They are a great starting point and you can (and should) make your own. You will gain a connection with the medicine by growing it yourself that is hard to beat. DMT, like mentioned above can be difficult to integrate, as it all happens so darn fast and there aren't words for it. Mushrooms are softer and can be easier to work with and understand, especially at lighter doses.

Welcome to the community all the same though! Smile

i feel like taking mushrooms helped me build up to dmt, i also feel like it was more of a journey to dmt, taking my time and becoming more aware of the phycadelic world around me, though you could look in to small doses and build up each time till you feel your ready to go all out

there's a great post somewhere on here that gives a quick idea of what you can expect at different dosages

^I too approached DMT in the same way. I knew about it for quite awhile before I tried it, and I did not go out looking for it right away. I understood that it was a powerful substance and so I spent over a year just working with mushrooms (and a little bit of L for awhile) before I had a good opportunity to get spice from a close friend who had extracted it himself. My thinking was that DMT would be the furthest out I'd ever get, so there was no rush in jumping on that ship.

I didn't recognize at that time that DMT is not a one-trip thing though. What I've learned since is that every trip can be different and that after I'd crossed the threshold into this universe of DMT, there was still a lot to be studied. It wasn't just like a, "oh, I've smoked DMT, so now I know what that's about." Instead it was a realization that this is going to take some time, patience, and willpower.

So I'm grateful that I approached it like I did, and there is certainly no rush to people new to this topic. Study, study, study before you start thinking of ingestion.

Hi Havenlove and welcome to the Nexus.

I don't think there's anything wrong with taking dmt as a first psychedelic. If that's what you are interested in, go for it.

If you are looking for change, psychedelics are a very interesting way to help catalyze change, but nothing worthwhile ever comes for free or without effort. So, even if they can help you change it will still mean integrating, self-reflecting, facing parts of yourself that are resisting change, etc. They are definitely not a magical cure or way for you to turn into something different.

On the longer drawn out trips induced by lsd, mushrooms or oral dmt a big portion of this work can be done while under the influence in hyper-intense introspection or confrontations. With shorter trips for me most of the work needs to be done in the aftermath, integrating by introspection and confrontation while sober.

What it boils down to is getting all the fractions of yourself aligned and working together to provoke a certain type of change. You not only have to consciously want it, but you have to convince the entirety of your being to want it. Then suddenly it all becomes very clear. But of course you also have to know what you want...

Vaporizing dmt will certainly let you experience things you've never experienced before.

In any case, I highly recommend taking a look at the Open Hyperspace Traveler Manual (in my signature) for some pointers for your future journeying.

hello and welcome,

While i completely understand not wanting to trip for such long time, I have to agree with others here, if your soul searching LSD and Mushrooms are really beneficial in that the length of the trip is whats going to help you have those "AH HA" moments. DMT might be a little intense for the first time and you just might have a really hard time understanding just what the hell just happened! LSD and Shrooms can prepare you (Somewhat) for the magical otherworldly experience that DMT will bring to you so that you can try to put it all together afterwards and integrate it all into your life. DMT utterly changed my existence and helped me see beyond the veil of materialism, so I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone, but you should consider getting your feet wet before jumping into the deep end of the Universal Pool Smile

I hope you find that your looking for and always remember: what you seek, seeks you
