Intent behind the posting? Because this is how I heard the song and thought I'd share. I'm sure there are a million ways to interpret the message transmitted in the data/music!

Touch - A song regarding the dilemma for sentience to emanate a body in the third dimension of form *cough Earth cough*

"Touch"
(feat. Paul Williams)

Quote:
Touch
Touch
I remember touch
Touch
Touch
I remember touch
Where do I belong?
Touch
I need something more
I remember touch
I need something more
In my mind
...

This starts the song out on a strange foot. The spacey/disembodied voice indicates a type of longing, whereupon the intelligence remembers what it felt like to exist in the world of form, of physicality. Questions such as "where do I belong" reference the fact that existential dilemmas exist at all levels of consciousness, dense third dimension or higher dimensions as well. The darkness of the phrase "I need something more" also delves into the sickness prevalent everywhere on this planet today - how much more we always feel we need, in wealth, good times, it seems that this main character needs more than what touch has to offer him

Quote:
Touch, I remember touch
Pictures came with touch
A painter in my mind
Tell me what you see

Pictures came with touch. Ah yes, of course. If a consciousness has never experienced the third dimension of form, how could one understand how to perceive this dimension? Pictures, as we know them to be by studying quantum physics, is a combination of color, texture, and matter. Now the color is due to light, a force that actually has zero resting mass in this dimension but still exists as something experience-able. Texture is understood with touch, as is hardness/softness/etc.

Of course, understanding just a tiny part of quantum physics it becomes abundantly clear that this 'form' we perceive is really just energy vibrating (see: Max Planck: "As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear headed science, to the study of matter, I can tell you as a result of my research about atoms this much: There is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together." the founder of quantum theory) and as such all we experience when we, say, "touch" our hand against a piece of wood is just a electromagnetic field. That's what the "touch" is. We call it "hard" but it's really just a different energy field, and our mind is now interpreting this vibration and giving it form. I mean, matter is over 99% empty space, so that touch is really just an electrical signal interpreted by the painter in our minds. Maybe.

A tourist in a dream
A visitor it seems
A half-forgotten song
Where do I belong?
Tell me what you see
I need something more

A tourist in a dream, a visitor it seems. Yes, yes, haven't we all felt this way? Although the idea is that we are all one, it definitely seems to me that "wow" look at everything around me! I need something more. Still something more..

Quote:
Kiss, suddenly alive
Happiness arrive
Hunger like a storm
How do I begin?

A room within a room
A door behind a door
Touch, where do you lead?
I need something more
Tell me what you see
I need something more

Kiss, pressure, touch with sensory organs around the mouth. The lips are wonderful instruments for detecting subtle changes in vibration! And hunger. I won't touch that beast. Like a storm! What are we touching things for again?

Hold on
If love is the answer you're home [x8]

How true

Quote:
Touch, sweet touch
You've given me too much to feel
Sweet touch
You've almost convinced me I'm real

I need something more
I need something more

Ah yes, our fearless warrior has again found himself at the existential dilemma. Too much to feel. Almost convinced me I'm real. That's the saddest part, because, it sure feels real.. but we all know that these bodies can only house our consciousness for what.. 90-100 years, maybe 120 or 130 if we laughed a lot, ate well and had a strong sense of community? And then it is time to go.. but does that mean we are not real? Of course not.. but perhaps it means this is not real..

At least, when it's time to leave, we have our memories, and our sentience has gained experience. We all are experiencing this together.. Oh man, I hope we can make it. I kind of like the body I am in, although there are a few defects the designers have got to work on (hangnails, eyelashes in the eyes, stuff like that) but..

Touch, sweet touch, you've given me something to feel. I need something more..

Plus the accompanying music and breakups of the stanzas make this song way more dynamic than it appears at first.

Yeah, that's it. This is the kind of stuff that occurs in my mind and I can not be more happy than to have a website where I can just let it out. I live alone and don't talk to many people so it seems quite a waste to not share and get feedback if someone feels so inclined Smile

Nice one there Ouroboros Smile

I remember well when I was driving home from hospital after my son's birth last year, eyes full of tears from that overwhelming feeling of love while listening to this song.
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
