? without using any hot water baths when mix be sitting between additions and stirs, would there be any major difference to the end product ?

was thinking, when letting water & ACRB soak, just let soak longer time. same when after add lye, just let sit longer than if in warm bath.

thought to ask before possible finding of not so great idea there. don't see why not, but curious.

In theory warming your acid solution should not only speed things along but also increas the total solubility of alkaloids and possibly help breakdown the plant cell structures so that the solution can get those alkaloids out. By leaving your solution cool some alkaloids may be left behind in plant matter. Whether this is an actual issue with measurable impact on yield or not I sadly have no idea. If you let it sit long enough I would think not, the question is simply how long? Do an experiment and share the results with your dear friends at the Nexus Pleased

As for heating the basic solution I think you misunderstand the purpose. The basic solution does not really need to sit on its own for very long heated or no. The key to success is using warm NP solvent for your pulls. If your basic solution is cool when your solvent goes in your solvent will be cooled back down to R.T. in a few seconds. Better to keep it all warm

In accuall fact it's a cycle of heating and cooling of the process that breaks down the cell walls as does the freeze thaw before the extraction process !!!

Just letting it sit won't do that much as all the bark will be settled on the bottom , doing that will result in a poor yeild , it still will work depending on how fine you're bark is powdered , even then it still will not get all the alkaloids out of the bark in which case is just a waste of good alks !!
