So I have been at this for a very long time... and all in my dreams it is..

It all started for me in the 70's with LSD, purple microdot was just awesome, and I had some very potent bloter, but that's another story. The good, the bad, and the amazing.

So I have also experienced a lot of shrooms, some Cactus, plenty of experience with Ayahuasca and all the analogs of that fine brew too.

And at this time I'm just chilling out, taking in the world, watching it all pass like a little hobbit in my hole. I venture out when I feel like it, and I like to ride my scooterBig grin

So what else is there, I have a life. And it's good, and I enjoy a good mystery. Is that not what life is, a mystery.

And without beating it into a system, I like to just let it all flow around me and I'm OK with that.Thumbs up

So, that's about it, in a nutshell.

Peace.

Hey There Old Crow,

Welcome to the Nexus, Very happy. We are getting more and more members who are in their 40's to 70's here and I absolutely love it, as I am in my 40's and my husband in his 60's. So, like you we have seen some interesting territory in our days (met at a Grateful Dead concert in 1988 ), we tend to keep a very low and discrete profile these days.

I do hope you will choose to be active here. Besides the very rich forums there is also a fun Chat room. I extend you a warm invite - button in upper left corner.

Otherwise, I again just want to warmly welcome you brother/sister.

Warm Regards,
Pandora

Welcome Old Crow! What a short and sweet introduction!

I have to say, I loved your bit about the mysteries of the life, myself holding an appreciation to the lesser and greater mysteries of this realm. Totally struck a chord.

See you around!

Hi Pandora..

Well...I'm divorced after having been in a.. long term.. relationship for 25 years, that's a lot of time, and I'm still good friends with my EX, heck, she was OK...we did so many cool things together, and we have a Son too, and that's big.... and he is such a great guy.

The best concert I ever seen was Pink Floyd, the Dark Side Of The Moon, in Montreal 1973, I was very well tuned in Big grin Oh my ... what a time.. that was...

And life keeps rolling on, I have had many good times and I have done so many things. I love camping, kayaking, biking, with my son.. and I'm not all that old, 56.. and I look 45Confused It's all this good simple clean living I do.. but crows are my spirit Ally, I know this in the core of my being.

Anyhow.. Peace sister.. see you on the chat side perhaps..Very happy

Hi BabalonBorne..

Ah the mystery of life, we need to embrace the mystery! And that is what it is, if we had the ultimate answers, well it would simply become another boring party.. and I like to have fun with it, it's my life.

I can see there is a spiritual dimension to life, thank you DMT Thumbs up it's all about love, and being centered. What do we need? I'm alive and I'm grooving with life, so get in the groove....

Ah well, there we have it... my hugs.. be with you.

Couldn't help myself, Very happy. I have cast a yes/up vote for promotion and encourage everyone else to do so - mods don't hesitate to jump in here if you like what you see. . .

P.S.: Ha! That worked well. Congratulations on promotion to full Membership Old Crow.

Welcome to the forum Old Crow.

You are now a full member, looking forward to seeing you around the forum/chat. Thumbs up

Here's a little something you may enjoy.

Quote:

There is a medicine story that tells of Crow's fascination with her own shadow.
She kept looking at it, scratching it, pecking at it, until her shadow woke up and became
alive. Then Crow's shadow ate her. Crow is Dead Crow now.
Dead Crow is the Left-Handed Guarding. If you look deeply into Crow's eye, you
will have found the gateway to the supernatural. Crow knows the unknowable mysteries
of creation and is the keeper of all sacred law.
Since Crow is the keeper of sacred law, Crow can bend the laws of the physical
universe and "shape shift." This ability is rare and unique. Few adepts exist in today's
world, and fewer still have mastered Crow's art of shape shifting. This art includes
doubling, or being in two places at one time consciously; taking on another physical form,
and becoming the "fly on the wall" to observe what is happening far away.
The Europeans that came to Turtle Island were named the "boat people" by Slow
Turtle. Even with the knowledge of alchemy possessed by certain boat people, none had
ever seen the powerful shape shifting of shamans who utilized Crow medicine. Many
boat people were frightened by what appeared to be animals coming into their camps or
dwellings to discern their medicine. Crow medicine people are masters of illusion.
All sacred texts are under the protection of Crow. Creator's Book of Laws or Book
of Seals is bound in Crow feathers. Crow feathers tell of spirit made flesh. Crow is also
the protector of the "ogallah" or ancient records.
The Sacred Law Belts, or Wampum Belts, beaded by native women long before
the boat people or Europeans came to this continent, contain knowledge of the Great
Spirit's laws, and are kept in the Black Lodges, the lodges of women. The law which
states that "all things are born of women," is signified by Crow.
Children are taught to behave according to the rules of a particular culture. Most
orthodox religious systems create a mandate concerning acceptable behavior within the
context of worldly affairs. Do this and so, and you will go to heaven. Do thus and so,
and you will go to hell. Different formulas for salvation are demanded by each "true
faith."
Human law is not the same as Sacred Law. More so than any other medicine,
Crow sees that the physical world and even the spiritual world, as humanity interprets
them, are an illusion. There are billions of world. There are an infinitude of creatures.
Great Spirit is with all. If an individual obeys Crow's perfect laws as given by the
Creator, then at death, he or she dies a Good Medicine death - going on to the next
incarnation with a clear memory of his or her past.

Crow is an omen of change. Crow lives in the void and has no sense of time. The
Ancient Chiefs tell us that Crow sees simultaneously the three fates - past, present, and
future. Crow merges light and darkness, seeing both inner and outer reality.
If Crow medicine appears in your card spread, you must pause and reflect on how
you see the laws of the Great Spirit in relation to the laws of humanity. Crow medicine
signifies a firsthand knowledge of a higher order of right and wrong than that indicated by
the laws created in human culture. With Crow medicine, you speak in a powerful voice
when addressing issues that for you seem out of harmony, out of balance, out of whack,
or unjust.
Remember that Crow looks at the world with first one eye, and then the other
cross-eyed. In the Mayan culture, cross-eyeds had the privilege and duty of looking into
the future. You must put aside your fear of being a voice in the wilderness and "caw" the
shots as you see them.
As you learn to allow your personal integrity to be your guide, your sense of
feeling alone will vanish. Your personal will can then emerge so that you will stand in
your truth. The prime path of true Crow people says to be mindful of your opinions and
actions. Be willing to walk your talk, speak your truth, know your life's mission, and
balance past, present, and future in the now. Shape shift that old reality and become your
future self. Allow the bending of physical laws to aid in creating the shape shifted world
of peace.
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...

I'm so moved by that, I love all that very good.. earth wisdom.. and I can feel Crows spirit following me on the wind as I fly down the road on my scooter. No definite plans, no direction but a will to keep moving, that's life on the road.Thumbs up

Thankyou.

Drifting through a very small remote Northern Canadian town that was forgotten by time, but the CN rail runs through.. so it has a line that keeps it ..just alive.. I stop in for a meal.. hungry from the long dusty road leading into this small oasis in the wilderness.. a small café, not welcoming but what do you expect at the end of the world.

In the window there is a sign that reads...

You best eat here or we will both starve!

I have a small laugh and enter.. pealing off my helmet thinking.. I love the road.

The Road..

Welcome, Old Crow! It's always good to learn from the wisdom of previous generations of travelers.

I'm digging all of this discussion of Crow Medicine. Crow has long been one of my closest and most valued spiritual teachers. He is a sentinel, guarder of the gateway between our realm and that of spirit. Crow is a messenger, a bringer of warnings, cawing out omens of impending change. We would do well to listen to him.

Just found you here Crowey.

For the record, Crow and me have this special bound for, like 2 years now?
Half a globe apart, never met live, but it always felt just right.
Congrats with your fast promoting brother Thumbs up , quality is easily recognized.

He's a great poet, a strange one too in moments, jazzy unpredictable subjects and wordings of choice, but always smooth and especially honest.

He has a good hearth, not a saint (who is?), and just as human as it gets.
So nice to meet you here dude, it makes me smile Smile

J.

PS: Crow, here's the story of my avatar Pleased

Hey Jees, nice to connect again..

Nope, I'm no saint, not even trying these days..

But the glory hidden within life is always aware of those who light a candle before they dream and in deep respect lets them at random pick yellow stars from that ever expansive sky, like sweet fruit from the great tree of life.

And so it goes down well for me and it's all very palpable, cheers mate..Thumbs up

There's nothing like the feeling you get looking up at a sky black with the wings of many crows when they're all moving at once. Smile

Never stop calling the crows!

There is nothing quite like life, what a gift it is, some days it rains, some days the sun is just a blaze in the sky.

I was blessed to have been granted life from where I'm seated. My Peace be with youWink

You know I'm not such an old crow, but I have lived... in another 10 years I will be pushing 70 and at that time I will still be doing what I do.. and I will be an Old Crow.
