So my question is answered that it is 14mm to prevent the filter from falling out but it's 18mm where it will fit into another 18mm piece. Three more questions, will the 18mm health stone fit into the short adapter, and where would you put a second one to load the spice onto?

The 18mm healthstone from aqual*bs will not fit into the short adapter, since the short adapter's top opening is only 14.5mm wide. The 18mm AL healtst*ne might fit into the the top part of the 18mm m*le to 18mm fem*le adapter, however, we think it would be a very tight fit, i.e. the heathstone will sit right near the top opening. Anyways, these are the adaptors that we use, you can choose from a whole host of bowls and adaptors to fit your plans. For example, the (Glass) 18.8mm (18mm) Vapo-Bowl has an opening of 20mm, however it has four (4) glass lips half way in the chamber (This may be useful). Perhaps you could stack some screens and then the 14mm S*lverSurver ceramic flav*ur d*sc, or even the 18mm AL healthst*ne into the bottom of the bowl. There wouldn't be any need to have another ceramic disc on top since the metal top plays that role already (we believe it has a screen inside that serves as the heat coil but it can also be modified/customized)Example

The 14mm connection can be used to fit a ceramic disk, personally id like to seal it with a piece of glass stem for preventing airflow
around the ceramic and narrowing the inlet for the flame so it will be faster pulling hot air + if you increase the lenght for the stem a little above the 14mm fitting and yes thats clear glass i find it much easyer aiming with both jet butane flame and a normal lighter, example normal flame doesnt have to come near the disk because the inlet is narrower soo nooo soot build up
and just like with a torch the whole ceramic top will be turned nice and red hot in a few seconds

It'll be good if someone would make kathy0577 understand, what we really require here. A true GVG alternative, not some workaround, more in the line of this :
(a short self-standing j-hook pipe with a bubble and a chamber (!) made of thick glass) At a price of $ 15,00-20,00.
Intezam apparently is a bit rusty in regard to our guangdong angruish and our PR0C transactionist skill level is also poor - we also lack the required sunshine dust . We hope, that one day kathy0577, or anyone with 8+ guangdong agony skill level would also pay attention to the healthstone and how these can be sourced or manufactured in PR0C. All one needs is quality 1200 F silicium carbide powder with some added black glass powder. Make a thin batter of these. Now you need polyethylene foam (such as those used in hepa filters or some aquarium filters) with the right pore size (small) and ppi (60). The foam is soaked within the silicium carbide batter and it should penetrate everywhere (inside). These foam sheets are then hanged to dry. Once dry, they are (carefully) put into an oven and now the polyethylene foam is burned (sintered) completely at a very high temperature, leaving only the silicium carbide which is further heated until fully hardened and the added glass powder ads some glossy sheen to it. Now, the silicium carbide sheet is ready and can be cut into small discs, which are then further hand ground until the have the desired taper and form. Alternative: the polyethylene foam can be pre-shaped into (oversize) small discs prior to coating/drying/sintering/hardening process - but needs to be touched up by hand.

If such a j-hook is sold separately from the top piece and healthstone, who can say anything patent wise? Also if you look at VG company, themselves just came up with a near clone of the magic flight launch box and they call it a "generic product". If you are aquaintance with kathy0577, well, maybe stefan555 can communicate that...

Simple 'Glass Stems' with a Copper wick work really well. Thats what I've done, can't afford [[ Yet ]] some of the BEAUTIFUL GLASS I've seen here ! Orion, that glass looks AWESOME !! That is crazy expensive here where I'm at... makes me drool though thinking of taking a big lunger of Deemsters with one, maybe two hits... which is certainly possible with a stupid 'crack pipe' so with one of THOSE? Well, there are no glass vapo b*wls with a female connector, so basicly yes & no. No, because we don't want suggest or spoon feed anything. Also, we can't because we have not tried squeezing the AL healthst*ne into the metal lid of the v*po b*wl (and we wouldn't). We are not compelled to have to use the AL healthst*ne at all. There is a reason why aq*al*bs produces it only in 18mm. To stop us lumpen ppl from merrily experrymenting (?) The AL healthst*ne is sure a beauty, but it's very costly at US$ 26,00 + US$ 12,00 for international shipping. For that sort of money we get most of our JVJ (J-hook-Vapor-Jinnie) setup. This is what we would suggest...but there are other possibilities.

@Intezam, how many different metal mesh are you using in your setup pic? I think I see 3? Do you have the volcano liquid pad? Do you have chore boy or copper ribbon? And what is the third one?

Yes, 3 x screens, a re-sized volcano liquid tap, generic copper 'woven' pot scrubber (not choreboy brand but the same really) and the third one (in the 14mm reducer) is the 11.1mm ceramic flavour disc - that serves as a heat shield VG style.

There is also one screen at the very bottom of the copper scrubber to stop any metal debris.
Anyway, we can also add cilled water into the pipe and use it as a bubbler. The water would then also stop any kind of debris from being inhaled (..but we use it without water).

Btw. it's important to torch all these metal parts prior to first use. They may be coated with mineral oils and what not...just burn it off
