In the Netherlands a lot of people / groups offer healing weekends. One of them is 'De Gewijde Reis'. I discovered their website a couple a days ago and it's gives me a good feeling...a lot of positive reviews on the site.

Personally i would prefer such a context instead of drinking on my one for the first time. The group i menioned seems to be able to create a warm environment and they provide experienced sitters.

I was wondering if anyone has made such an experience in The Netherlands?

Hmmz €135,- for an Ayahuasca ceremony seems way too expensive.

In Dutch Smartshops Ayahuasca packs can be bought for under €30,-.
SWIM once participated in a Santo Daime ceremony, drinking Ayahuasca and chanting with them. The Ayahuasca had been grown, harvested and processed with special care and pure intentions and ingested in a powerfull ceremony. Still SWIM payed them only €30,- for it all.

Santo Daime is what SWIM recommends. Contact one of the church leaders from their site.

I've heard about this organisation, but as far as i can remember their sessions where quite expensive indeed, and they use rue instead of vine.
Basically i had the impression that they where using the cheapest ingredients possible and charge as much for it as they like.

But maybe i'm wrong. I would contact them or any other group you may be interested in, and just ask them what they're about, etc. It's important that you feel that you're getting the right answers from them.

It seems, given the ingredients they use (mimosa and rue), that they consider purging to be an important part of the experience.
It depends on how you feel about those kind of things. In my perspective, the purge is not a nessecary part of the whole experience at all and there are purge-free ayahuasca recipe's, but some people find it has a mentally and spiritually, cleansing effect.

135 € for fake ayahuasca (rue is not ayahuasca and a lot cheaper btw) really seems way too expensive.
[edit: where is that 135 € quote from, cannot find it any longer??]

For that money you should be able to get a ceremony in Europe where real ayahuasca is used. And I am not talking about that Daime stuff here, rather talking about highly concentrated and potent ayahuasca brewed by an amazonian shaman.

Hey thanks for the input guys! Smile

Rue instead of vine?! If that is the case, why are they calling it an 'ayahuasca ceremony'? If it's like that it is definately a no go for me...
I've signed up to a mailing list at maya ethnobotanics, for healing ceremonies. Actually there are a LOT of offers, and when it's possible to have a positive and supportive ceremony for 30 euros i should definatly do some more research.

They replied very politely, excused for using the image and removed the image from their site. All went well. Smile

Their explanation on peyote ceremony:
Quote:
...Who has read the books of Carlos Castaneda knows the cactus and its mystical effect...

For mortals like us, it's effects have near-zero in common with what is in those books, and also Don Tonio & Raul themselves stray far away from digging up Castaneda-ish references, on the contrary.
Populism of a plant that deserves a more sober approach, just my idea.
