Hi everyone, I was wondering how ayahuasca would react after consuming opiate based medication as I have a friend who wants to experience a ceremony but he is currently on opiate based meds which he cannot stop taking due to it being a management programme.
Thanks Smile

If its suboxone I can chime in with my experiences. I'm on the maintnence program and have been for as long as I've been exploring DMT. I take 4mg a day and for the past two weeks I've been drinking Syrian rue tea (enough to have psychoactive effects on its own) with absolutely no interaction or I'll effects Smile I can't say do it because that would be irresponsible so do some research yourself but personally ive never had any negative reactions and harmalas (caapi and rue) have had great impacts on my life Smile

Tyler, I feel inclined to refer you to this thread which I made a little over a year ago, particularly Corpus Callosum's replies since he is one of our resident Nexian doctors. Smile

Thanks for directing me entheogenerator Smile I looked at that thread while deciding on whether to try out harmalas while on treatment. I take a very small dose of suboxone daily now, and personally haven't noticed any potentiated effects from the raised plasma levels of bupe in my system. I could definitely see how this could be a problem for someone with a low opiate tolerance, but I can handle much more suboxone than I take without noticing any effect at all. This may be somewhat of a problem when it comes to daily harmala dosages, so I will have to ration my usage a little more... They just work so amazingly well for depression for me Smile

Now, are you fully off your suboxone entheo? I'm in the midst of my taper right now and if you successfully got through it I'd really like to talk to you at some point about how you did it/ what helped for discomfort and other things like that. Smile

I was for a period of time and then I went back on. I am actually supposed to meet with my doctor this week and decide if I want to start tapering again. Please, don't hesitate to PM me if there's anything you'd like to talk about! Wink
