Hi,

I only just realized I am able to sign up on the weekends only.

I can't wait to start contributing knowledge to help everyone out in this somewhat obscurely over-ordered society that doesn't give enough room for spiritual development and pushes too much of a narrow minded world view which is overly dependent on reason & scientific scrutiny.

I have followed the forums well especially in the "hypothetical" extraction processes that many of the member talk about. I am interested in this only for hypothetical reasons that satisfy my curiosity.

I know of members like endlessness, 69ron, the traveler, benzle, snozzleberry, a1pha, universecannon, Infundibulum.

Thanks for promoting me! Smile

Hello Dr. Dimitri,

Welcome to the Nexus. Well, technically, you are still in the Welcome Area, but yeah, you are a member now, so no worries. As long as you contribute mindfully and follow the rules, promotion to regular membership will most likely follow within a couple/few months. Just be patient and do contribute.

So, I can tell you are excited to be here and we are happy to have you join the Nexus. I'd love it if you could maybe take a little time and tell us a bit about yourself. What led you to psychedelics in general and the Nexus in particular. I know you mention hypothetical, but I want to reassure you this site is very secure and you can use a VPN service if you want even more annonimity. Just wondering if you might be willing to tell us a bit more about your real self.

Something led you to the path of mind/self-exploration. Clearly you are not satisfied with the culture and on the wheel in/on which we reside and ride. I don't blame you one bit. Would you care to tell us a bit more about what led you to your conclusions?

You mention old members, most of whom are current mods. I'm not sure why, but anyway, I do look forward to your contributions.

Warm Regards,
Pandora

Wow, that's quite a mouthful, but I know about the obnoxious, self-righteous kinds of people you're referring to. I used to be such a "Skeptic" myself, and was absolutely certain that the world was material. Heh.

The Nexus is good for everything about DMT and hyperspace, but the kinds of topics you are referring to are much better suited for its "spiritual" sister-site: Skeptiko.com (they are not actually affiliated).

This site is more about DMT and exploring hyperspace and casually theorizing about what it might mean, and that site is more about actually researching consciousness and the science behind the big questions. You will find extremely serious, published consciousness-scientists there who have devoted decades into researching the actual scientific principles behind consciousness, and then revealing their research findings and methodologies, and they have almost no drug users over there. When their decades of exhaustive research have tried every hypothesis and reached a conclusion, and all other possibilities and alternative explanations have been proven false, then they are happy to accept it as real and discuss it with certainty. On the Nexus, things are kept more "open-ended" and nothing should be stated with any certainty.

Both sites are absolutely fantastic. For different purposes. You can discuss some science over here, but never as in depth as over there. On the other hand, you can discuss DMT and your visions in depth here, which you can't really do over there.

I hope this helps you.

PS: The word you were looking for was "materialists". Science and the scientific method itself has no bias, and is the best available method for figuring out the truth: Hypothesize, experiment, analyze. Consciousness-science is exactly the field of scientific research that you are looking for.
