So.n.very interesting topic. There is no other forum community in which the words I write will be scrutinized with an OPEN mind. I find that trying to explain a isolation tank to someoone whos never been like trying to explain a dmt trip to someone who has never blasted off. So with that being said. I think that if u can breakthrough on dmt, you will have no problem n a tank. If u dont know what it is, youtube it, joe rogan style. Anyways, I just scheduled my 3rd time tomorrow for 1pm EST. Im am so ecstatic. The feeling you get after you have mastered it, is very similiar to a breakthrough state. The way the whole thing works is out of this world. You feel like you have just induced a psychedelic, largely. I am also thinking about making or buying my own..the evolution of ones consciousness in that thing is so far beyond the.realm...The power your mind has after senses vanish is astonishing, honest truth. I hope more people become privy to this....enigma...this miracle. Its a sure fire way, just like dmt...awesome handsdown...stick a newbie in there and watch what.it does to them...still...no combinations of words can accurately put together the feelings one encounters in this.chamber...If u have never been go...If u have...well..keep doing it...but experienced users dont need me to tell thim that.

Most people arn't very comfortable living in the world we live in and don't know it, let alone spending quality time with themselves Laughing lol Breaking through on DMT and knowing whats happening takes a lot of practice, the entire onset of the trip can be perceived as I fall down the rabbit hole, Im guessing this is not as quick but feels like it when threes no perception of time? How long do you go for your sessions?

Thumbs up for mastering it my friendThumbs up

What does this mean? That you know how to inhale enough dmt to reliably breakthrough every time? Or that you've mastered the DMT realm itself? I'm confused.......

That's great you've learned to let go inside the tank after 2 visits. But don't expect the learning process to end there and think you've mastered the experiences possibilities... far from it

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

The human race is far from mastering consciousness. I don't even think we are capable. You mean that you are able to allow yourself to let go?

That's good. It's good for entheogenic experiences, it's good for isolation tanks, it's good for meditation.

The way I see it, mastering any of these practices takes many years, maybe even a lifetime, maybe it's not truly possible.

Peace

The float tank is simply a tool. How psychedelic it is is determined by how "deep" into the experience you go, which is thereby determined by factors such as attentional control, physical relaxation, mind-body connection, and of course, previous experience in the tank.

Not sure-fire.

Although settling into the tank and relaxing sufficiently to achieve the Mind-Awake/Body-Asleep state may come easier to some people, floating doesn't necessarily give you mind-blowing psychedelic experiences (or turn you into a proto-human ape!) Wink

I understand how exciting it can be; it's a way-cool experience whether you simply fall asleep or astral project yourself to another dimension, but as far as mastering the tank, I doubt even John C. Lilly could make such a claim, although he probably got close!Big grin

This is an interesting subject, indeed. Perhaps we can steer this thread away from self-promoting talk of mastery and reactive responses. ..

Where i live there is a float tank business that must be similar to the ones you describe, one sets an appointment, and then they float for a pre determined period of timeafter paying a fee. My interest in this goes without need for explanation here on the nexus, in fact, i was introduced to the idea of float tanks by the film Altered States when it was released when i was something like ten. The entire psychedelic mushroom thing in that movie went right over my head at that age, but the float tank idea was firmly planted in my head then. No opportunity to try this presented itself to me until this business opened its doors and began advertising in the local papers.

So they've been open for, i don't know, years now and i still haven't pulled my fat ass down there. But they run these ads every week that contain short little essays written by people who've tried, from experienced folks (don't recall any mastersPleased ) to bewildered new explorers of inner space, and the reports are consistently fascinating. From say, a person who spends almost the entire time lazily floating and getting little more than a relaxing time suddenly finds herself taking a grand tour of the solar system, to a person who may have almost instantly been able top shut down the noise in their head to have a very deep spiritual experience. Some do sound quite psychedelic.

So i think it's time i take the plunge (groan) and try this out. I think it would be awesome if i could take the things I've learned about conciousness exploration, meditation and spiritual closeness from my limited hyperspacial excursions into a closed float tank. An easily accessed tool to help 'get there ' that is legal too, at least until the day when our beloved molecule is no longer reviled unfairly.

Perhaps Paddy Cheyevski was onto something when he wrote Altered States, but a tank could be used to replace or heavily augment the ingestion of an exogenous substance to get to hyperspace.

Oh man yall. Im sry I should have made it clear. Let me rephrase and answer a couple of things. "Mastering Breaking-through"...I had a really hard time when I first started smoking spice breaking through due too two things...1...improper smoking techniques...burned through over 1gram with nothing...and 2...letting go...both of those I have conquered thus what I meant when I said mastered. If that is not the correct definition of mastering, I appologize. I breakthrough everytime now with anxiety but no problem letting go. I never meant mastering of ones consciousness. I applied these principles and similiar ones from meditation to the float tank, thus meaning when I said mastered, I merely meant I was able to achieve higher transcendant states then meditation, and not as intense as DMT.

I go for 90 minutes usually, tomorrow I have a 2 hour session. I can give you the name of the company and location, but im not sure thats allowed??

One last thing. I know what you are saying about it being a tool. I have a , well, a deep enough background due to experience with my consciousness, that I can obtain these psychedelic states with little to what feels like hardly any effort.

I didnt mean to start an ordeal. People started to question "My" definition of mastery and naturally explained what I really meant. I am really excited and the only reason I posted the thread was to share my experience tomorrow after I got back. Oh and did I mention...its only 45 bux for 90 minutes...and 53 for two hours!!¡¡!!¡¡ I consider that to be a reasonable exchange for a chamber that you can be completely alonr with your thoughts and beyond.

Ha, no bad. I admit to being a bit of a touchy hippy, its the tail end of a really anxiety producing week.

Yeah, keep us updated . Maybe we could have a float diary going on. Thanks for the cost info. I'm thinking that would be a good way to let some of this bad energy i have accumulated
go.

Happy floats. ..

Hey guys..just dryed off. One hck of a time. Know problem achieving the state I wanted, but really took out of it some information and insight I wasnt expecting. You really do lose touch of the physical world in this thing. I want one so bad in my house. I wonder the effects one could achieve while smoking spice and laying in one of those, even if it could be possible.. Either way fun to think about...
