Hi all,
I've been going through as much research on this page as I can stand (not the best with computers) and I just need a little help.
Its my first time at extracting so I'm attempting Lazyman (out of simplicity not laziness haha) with 500g of what I thought was Acacia Confusa bark. She was a beautiful old growth with lots of babies nearby, I thought she was the one!
So I'm following the recipe and I've attempted 2 naptha extractions with ZERO yield.

So my question is this: Do you need to take the bark from a certain place on the tree ie. root, or inner bark (as I mostly took the outer, I didn't want to damage her)
Or was she possibly just not the right acacia?

Thank you for reading, I'm sure the answers are on here somewhere but I'm just lost in text.
Any response would be greatly appreciated.

Are you 100% it was confusa??

Inner root bark is normally used , but 500g you shoulda got something !!

STB extractions tend to not work with ACRB. I'll say this from experience..... I reccomend using an a/b trek such as cybs or if you want to avoid using lye use q21q21s naphtha tek.

Didn't think to check what type lazymans TEK was , but I totally agree stb isn't good for acacia esp outer dead bark !!

Thanks so much guys, pretty sure it was the wrong tree, she looked right and she called to me, but perhaps it was for something else!
sigh! There's another big lady nearby that looks good and has totally different bark so I might try that and see what I can do about trying a more complex tek. I'm just such a chemistry pleb at this stage!!
Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

That's all I have of the one I'm going after next, bad quality sorry but I really don't want to go harvesting and possibly hurting trees without a positive id this time.
