Hello friends. New to the site, have yet to actually use DMT although I have a gram sitting in front of me that I extracted myself using the teks that have been compiled on this site by many of our talented members. I have used a variety of psilocybin mushrooms (cubensis, liberty caps, cyanescens) on many occasions, have used mescaline via processing the San Pedro cactus, have yet to try LSD, and am looking forward to my first DMT experience with great anticipation.

I wanted to break the ice with my first post by suggesting how much of a better world it would be if we were to tear down Christianity/Islam et al. and say instead of singing hymns or praying to Mecca a million times a day, if once a week, on every sunday, if everyone over the age of 18 were to take an entheogen of their choosing either by themselves, with friends, or with family.

Doesn't this sound like a great idea everyone? Time to hit up the town halls with this stroke of brilliance!

Welcome fellow new member. Sure the world would be great if more ppl had some of the right experiences such as dmt, but we're also here for many of the wrong ones. That's the nature of the ride and it's full spectrum I guess.

As for tearing down religions? I'm not sure about that. I don't have much of a problem with either Christianity or Islam, only perhaps with how people apply them or what they make of them. Perhaps if people could see the occult meaning behind the allegorical symbolism of religions then perhaps things might be better. I don't see that religions are a problem but perhaps what people take from them is. There are some great truths buried in religion but we're generally misguided about it all.
Eckhart saw Hell too. He said: "The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you", he said. "They're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and... you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth."

Let people do their own thing. Not everyone has the same needs as you. Live and let live, love and let love.

Welcome to The Nexus, I hope you find a home here

I used to practice "reflection day"

The second and forth Sunday was designated to eating some mushrooms and reflecting on my life. I would pick a few topics that I'd want to address, and leave room for any topics that might spontaneously pop up during an experience. I did this for about 6 months or so. This was an extremely beneficial practice, for me. I will consider revisiting the practice of reflection day.

Your suggestion is a fine idea! Do it. Don't spend to much time worrying about what other people are doing on reflection day. It's your day to reflect. If others want to honor history/religion.... That's okay. Smile
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

Welcome to the Nexus!

Hopefully you have a wonderful DMT experience! What will be your vaporization/smoking method? What about the setting? Have you consider taking it orally too with harmalas?

Regarding your suggestion, it`s something that comes up often but personally I don`t think these substances by themselves will make people or the world better, it all depends on dosage set and setting, integration afterwards, etc. Also I don`t think these substances are good for everyone. For some people maybe meditating/focusing their intentions through a religious model might even be better for their personal growth at that particular time? Who knows...

All we can do is look at ourselves and decide what path we want to go through, and help educating others so they can make informed decisions about their own choices, but I really don`t think we can say what path others should or shouldn`t take.

Be well!
