I was inspired to start this thread because it is happening again! I took this pic of my largest clump of Lophophora williamsii back in early 2013. You can see a new head starting to emerge between three of the existing heads. (I don´t use the term pup as they are generally regarded as a peripheral new growth, subordinate to Mama.) A year (and a repot) later it had muscled its three close companions to one side, and had flowered and fruited. I am currently closely monitoring a repeat performance. Life is a shit sandwich - the more bread you got, the less shit you eat.

Awesome! How large is that cluster? It's a beauty! Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

Right. Thanks for the info. I had never even heard of diffusa until recently and I am always curious about how to identify different cacti. They are neat plants. That picture of Lophos is seriously awesome. Nice looking cactus, that is! You are me and I am you, I'll always be with you...
