MelCat, I found Uncle Knucles's work and I know it from somewhere other than here! I can't think of where at the moment....

Also you DO make pretty pictures and I find this:

Delightful.

I know now why I know his work, we work with the same tools and I have seen him on ZBC!
There is some work on ZBC that I do not comment on because its either too good or its got something to do with things I recognise from having ingested... something the moderators might not approve of, they can be a bit stiff there at times.
GRIN!

Could someone do me a small favor?
I can't send PM's yet but I want to get something to Uncle Knucles that might help him out...

Hes working on a project that I understand the process of and he's shoving his computer into oblivion for very good reasons....
Anyway he said this:

Quote:
Last two. Now to figure out how to string 40 of them together without blowing up my computer. I foresee having to render all of the components in my piece separately, which probably means separate files for each row of four of these. I strung too many together last night, ended up with over 50 million polygons and corrupted the file (before I even had everything in it), so that's out.

And this:

Quote:
I've never used any maps to be honest, but I guess I'm going to have to learn. I added a couple more pieces and now have two full rows consisting of 120 million polys...

I would like to send him this:

Hya Art! Nice art! Seriously, its beyond stunning.
Normal maps are useful as are displacement maps, displacement maps in ZBrush can be very interesting, but normal maps are for programs outside of ZBrush, Blender springs right to mind as I know how to use it to do this stuff... yes, in Blender..... I love and hate blender, but I can show you how to do something quite amazing with it I think.
What you may consider however is that there are two more options you may not have tapped into in ZBrush, the first I would think of as unlikely for your project, and that is HD Sculpting. This is a wildly great tool, but its got limits that could easily thwart you in this instance.
The other thing I would suggest is 2.5D, if you wanted to you could render a hundred million trillion polygons in 2.5D, this means that if you wanted too you could make thousands more of those assets and place them all on the canvas fully poly painted and render the entire thing all in one shot.
Now, heres the kicker:
With a plugin called PixolsTo3D made by Marcus on ZBC you can convert your 2.5D canvas into 3D and hit it with BPR rendering and then composite the two results, AND have all the render passes that BPR produces.
Think about 2.5D, I have made tools of 35+ million polygons and used them as a paintbrush in 2.5D, the same number of objects pouring out of my cursor in 3D would be terabytes per second. You know what insert multi mesh can do with curves in no time flat, you can crush your computer into paste, with 2.5D you cannot run out of polygons.
I hope this is helpful to you, I love your work and I love ZBrush.

Cheers!
Mealea

Thanks to anyone who can get this to him, it's sort of a funny request and might not make sense to a lot of people, but I know the tools he uses and I think I use them slightly differently than he does.

Thanks again!
Mealea

MealeaYing... reading your words feels like hearing from a friend from a loooooooong long long time ago.. if you have ever had that experience before.. I always find it fascinating, how different beings can have a personality just by typing characters in a machine representing concepts in one language transmitted with 0 and 1 in combination to be displayed by different frequencies of light photons on a device that can interpret the signals... which is then read by another device (the observer) which is interpreted yet again.. or is it something more than that? Energy is such a funny thing, many different energies are out there, more than the slurp that gets poured into combustion vehicles Laughing ! So much more to discover soon.. You sound SO well and good, the ocean has done you well. I'm so energized reading your words, just concentrated on the Earth water/air current map you provided, seeing the picture become clearer. As to your comment regarding East coast US. I have lived here for a while and it is a terrible dark war on spiritual ethereal planes, but an amazing place if one wants to learn how to defend themselves appropriately from the evil, so many new ways of being attacked it can keep one on their toes Very happy It is exhausting work. Nature can be scary for sure but the energy that comes from some Americans here.. it has form like jagged broken glass..

I am new on the forum as well, so not many people here know of my personality either, but I also was drawn in by what this site is doing and I can say the members are intelligent, fascinating, but most importantly I can sense that they are doing this with the desire to help to understand themselves and their relationship with infinity, what a pure state of being. And now, for you, what can I provide such a diverse being to help energize you? Here is something that makes me smile and lightens the mood: a funny group from NORWAY!

EDIT: Sorry to kill the thread!

You DIDN'T kill the thread!
Not at all!
I just suddenly got access to thing I didn't know about and was, as is typical of me, rather distracted. Also I have been thinking about stuff you said...
First off none of it that I can see is negative. None at all.
People on the east coast, and a lot of other places fall into the usual categories, and some of them are quite amazing, some are not, and some are to be avoided at all costs.
I dont know where you have been but the broken glass as you put it is melting in the north, they are figuring out how to live better, the changes I have seen just in small racist industrial hell holes around Boston are staggering, they have actually learned, and are now beginning to teach. These are places where when I was young I couldn't go, now I can without hesitation and what I see where there was once trash are trees and where I used to hear racial epithets I now hear "Hello!" and its genuinely cheerful. THIS is a very very good thing AND I think its contagious! I think the evil will lose.
Nature on the other hand is in serious trouble, but that is global, on the east coast things may be improving in one place but they are still killing whol mountains, and dumping their corpses into rivers and streams killing everything below...... and theres more, but I think it will be stopped, at least I hope I think so.
Internal combustion is a disaster of global proportions, it's simply bad, partly because we are bad at it and partly because of its inherent nature, it makes smog.
My boat had a diesel engine, it now is 100% wind and solar, it turns out that its easy to do, almost totally silent and smells like.... nothing at all!
The Ocean HAS done me well, its given me time and a place to think, or in some cases not think which can be just as good. Its also gotten me healthy, mentally and physically.
I want to know about what you are talking about when you say you know me from a loooooong time ago, I know what you mean in the obvious sense, and reading what you say I have the same feeling, but this is one of those things that has eluded me. HOW is it that this feeling happens and why? It's one of the things that I am waiting for a Buddhist or Hindu to just pop out and explain one day in nice plain language while providing an example.
Oddly when I saw your icon I sort of knew what was about to happen and that I was going to read something interesting, your name reinforced that. I know what it is, and what it means, and its a fascinating concept. I also have a good idea of what infinity is, its bloody huge and I want, for some reason, to see all of it!

Its wonderful to meet you Ouroboros, especially if its happened before!

Oh!
One last thing:
Heres proof that you didn't kill this thread:
That video is now stuck in my head.
